Glad to see USPS plans to upgrade its plant in Sioux Falls and ensure that intrastate mail is actually processed within our state. While more must be done, I hope this will improve mail service and delivery times across South Dakota, and I’m grateful for @SenatorRounds’ work on this issue.

🚨 THIS IS THE PROBLEM. University of Michigan just announced it will no longer give letter grades to freshmen. Instead, it’s “pass / no credit” — because the kids are apparently too fragile for real grades. This is the participation trophy generation fully arriving on campus. Years of padded childhoods, lowered K-12 standards, COVID learning loss, and progressive indoctrination produced students who show up to college needing remedial middle-school math… and universities respond by dumbing everything down even further. The ones who actually want to compete and excel get punished so the system can protect feelings. Lowering the bar never helps the students. It only hides the failure.

Suicidal empathy is killing America. We feel more for the illegal who just crossed the border than the citizen who just got robbed. More for the career criminal than the victim. More for the foreign cause than our own kids future. A nation that puts everyone else first eventually has nothing left to give. And nothing left to defend.

I did not—and do not—support the decision to postpone the budget resolution. I worked hard to get Leader Thune to agree to bring it up so we could move forward on the SAVE America Act, and I appreciate his willingness to do so. I’m very disappointed we didn’t vote. We’ve talked enough. It’s time to stop talking and start voting. I also voted NO to adjourn, and my NO vote is recorded in writing with the Senate clerk.
