Virunga National Park is pleased to announce that community trackers recently observed a new birth in the Humba mountain gorilla family. Ndala, a 12-year-old female, gave birth to a male infant.
With this new birth, the Humba family now numbers 19 individuals. This is the second birth recorded in the family in 2026 and the 16th among mountain gorillas monitored in the Mikeno sector since January.
Field teams will continue to monitor Ndala and her newborn closely, paying particular attention to their progress during the first few weeks.

Congrats! I can't wait to watch this.
I wanted to remind everyone that you can watch the movie, AN AMISH MURDER, which is based on the first book in the Kate Burkholder mystery series, SWORN TO SILENCE, on Amazon Prime (free with your Prime subscription!) You can also see it on Kanopy.com (through your local library.) It’s a well-done mystery staring Neve Campbell as Kate. Hope you enjoy! tinyurl.com/mrxsewvt
