Disgust of Trump Reaches New Levels in Europe A gilded statue of Donald Trump titled "Orange Plague," also known as "King of Injustice," is on display this week inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Danish artist Jens Galschiøt was invited to show the work by Danish MEP Per Clausen. The copper sculpture, covered in 23-karat gold leaf and standing about 2.6 meters (8.5 feet), depicts a naked Trump seated on the shoulders of a much smaller, clothed man. He holds the scales of justice in one hand and a golf club in the other, beside a golf ball shaped like the Earth. The plinth reads: "I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back." Galschiøt says the piece was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's "The Emperor's New Clothes," the story of a vain ruler whose subjects are too afraid to tell him he is naked. "Trump represents one of the greatest threats to the rules-based world order, democratic values, and our common effort to solve the climate crisis," he said. "We must address this issue and stand together against such destructive influence."

New Greenland–US–Denmark agreement to be debated on Monday Greenland’s Parliament, Inatsisartut, will debate the new agreement between Greenland, the United States and Denmark on Monday, October 12. The agreement will receive its first reading and is the only item on Monday’s agenda. It will only enter into force if it is approved by Inatsisartut and subsequently by the Danish Parliament. —KNR

Nebraska maga: “He’s just one of us. He cares about the people. He cares about the country. As far as I’m concerned, he’s the best president we’ve had in 250 years.” Trump has never pumped his own gas. He’s never shopped in a grocery store. And the only way “He’s just one of us” is you’re as mentally underdeveloped and just as morally bankrupt as he is.

Dan Driscoll, until recently US Army Secretary, has told Rolling Stone that watching Ukraine was humiliating. Kyiv had a fraction of the Pentagon's budget and still fielded better weapons of war, which he called a wake-up call. He might have added that the alarm had already gone off, loudly, in a German field. At Combined Resolve in Hohenfels this spring, some 3,500 American troops, mostly from the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, attacked a position defended with help from Ukraine's 412th Nemesis regiment. They arrived with their own drones, jammers and counter-drone kit. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Ukrainians eliminated the entire brigade anyway, spotting the armor by its dust clouds and finishing it with bomber and FPV drones. Nobody has published an exact body count, because the umpires apparently lost the will to keep one. The kills came so fast that destroyed vehicles had to be "re-spawned" again and again over two weeks simply to keep the exercise alive. The world's most expensive army survived on video game rules. Dan Driscoll, former US Army Secretary: Ukraine's budget was small relative to ours, and despite that, they had better weapons of war. It was a wake-up call. In some ways, it was humiliating seeing how quickly a nation could change when it needed to — Rolling Stone. 1/

Trump “I’m in no rush. Canada does all their business with us; we do very little business with them. All we ask, is one thing of Canada, they have to be honest— they’ve been ripping us off for years.” You said you’d use “economic force” to crush us.

Trump: "Canada behaves very badly with the United States. We've caught them in the act. They charge us a lot of tariffs that nobody knew about except me."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Canada's tariffs on US goods are publicly available in official schedules and most qualifying trade is duty-free under USMCA; recent retaliatory tariffs are explicitly announced and listed by Canada with full product details. canada.ca/en/department-… trade.gov/usmca-overview congress.gov/crs_external_p…

Replying to @atrupar
Tariffs are publicly available info, there's no such thing as a tariff only Trump knows about. They are noticed when applied. Trump is making up tariffs. Canada had 0 tariffs when Trump tariffs started. We have a free trade deal CUSMA. All Canadian measures since are reciprocal.

On Oct. 4, 1957, the Avro Arrow was unveiled with the intention of it being the RCAF's primary interceptor in the 1960s. Less than two years later, the program was abruptly cancelled and 14,528 Avro employees were put out of work. This is the story. 📸 LAC 🧵 1/12

Tucker gets absolutely schooled on the Budapest Memorandum and the myth of “no NATO expansion.” He literally crumbles when faced with basic facts, as does every Russian propagandist. Glorious.

Oh. "A Globe and Mail investigation has found that Republican political operatives were on the ground in Alberta this year to assist the separatist campaign in its bid to leave Canada, while harbouring their own aspirations for the province to secede. The Globe also found that when Alberta separatist leaders went to Washington to meet with the U.S. State Department, they offered up key assets from the province’s resource portfolio, including access to fresh water and royalties on crude oil, in exchange for help transitioning to independence." theglobeandmail.com/canada/a…

Link to the Moscow Times, and screen shots (in Russian) in the event Russian gov't takes down this article, or edits it. My suspicion is soon the Russian gov't will deny the outbreak is plague, and/or blame something, or someone, else — as they've done in the past including with the famous anthrax outbreak at Sverdlovsk, which was blamed on contaminated meat but was really a lab leak from a biological weapons facility called Garrison 19. shorturl.at/dnn69

Can you spot our latest arrival?  Yesterday, we were blessed by a Comet in the form of ex-orphan Chaimu's beautiful newborn daughter. Chaimu arrived at our Ithumba stockades, and tucked beneath her legs was something rather special: the 95th known calf born to an orphan elephant we have rescued, raised and rewilded. A wonderful new chapter in Chaimu's story – and another generation of wild elephants made possible by your support. Discover the full story: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/n…

Simon has been found dead, reportedly from "suicide." RIP to Simon and to all whistleblowers who have died too young. The truth about Lutnick will never die
I am the British whistleblower who reported evidence concerning Howard Lutnick, his links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC to the FBI in 2020–21. Listen to the BBC File on 4 documentary about my whistleblower story: bbc.com/audio/play/m002yx47 BBC News: bbc.com/news/articles/c9q28d… I later shared evidence with the House Oversight Committee, which subsequently questioned Lutnick behind closed doors. My disclosures also contributed to regulatory action in the US and UK, including a £96m HMRC tax assessment relating to BGC’s partnership scheme. I believe the true tax exposure is substantially higher. I also reported to the FBI and financial regulators matters involving Cantor Fitzgerald’s Relief Fund and BGC/Cantor’s annual 9/11 Charity Day. The personal consequences of whistleblowing, and the retaliation I say followed, have been devastating for my family and me. Mother Jones previously reported that documents I uncovered revealed a years-long business tie between Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald and Jeffrey Epstein through AdFin, including a 2018 exchange in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed the company directly: motherjones.com/politics/202… motherjones.com/politics/202… Follow me here on X and on LinkedIn. I intend to share more of the evidence and the story behind what happened.

The recent death of Simon Andriesz brings a tragic end to the story of the British banker-turned-whistleblower who exposed US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s previously undisclosed ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Andriesz wasn't just a casual observer; as a former managing director at BGC Partners—part of Lutnick’s Cantor Fitzgerald group—he knew exactly how the firm operated. While the public was busy searching the millions of released Epstein files for Lutnick's full name, Andriesz knew executives often used initials. This insight led him to the "HWL" account, where he uncovered a 2018 email chain between Lutnick and Epstein discussing the prospects of a start-up called Adfin. But that was only part of what he found. Digging deeper, Andriesz also discovered plans for one of Lutnick's firms to commercially exploit the contacts of Prince Andrew, involving a £1 million loan—a move he described as trying to "basically buy a prince." His digging came full circle when he was shocked to find his own name in the files, tied to FBI interviews he had given during a dispute with BGC Partners. Andriesz had been fired in 2017 after raising concerns about accounting irregularities, though his allegations later contributed to BGC being fined $3 million by US regulators. Andriesz shared his explosive findings with the House Oversight Committee ahead of Lutnick's May testimony. Under scrutiny, Lutnick claimed he didn't know Epstein was an investor in Adfin until this year and stated he unequivocally condemns Epstein's conduct. The Commerce Department added there is no evidence of wrongdoing. However, Democrats on the committee were unconvinced, accusing Lutnick of lying and demanding his resignation. Ultimately, Andriesz’s meticulous search through 3.5 million documents brought critical context to light—a legacy that now stands as a defining part of his obituary.
