Special thanks to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles and Director General Jason Ma for joining me, along with Senator Steven Choi. It was a great opportunity to highlight the innovation connecting California and Taiwan.

The GKN claims program opens today, October 27, at noon for eligible residents and businesses affected by the May evacuations.
If you were impacted, I encourage you to review the eligibility requirements and gather documentation of your expenses or losses. Visit GKNGGClaimsProgram.com to learn more and submit your claim once the portal opens.
Red Ribbon Week grew out of a movement honoring DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, who was killed by drug traffickers in 1985. Today, I’m joining families and schools across our community in honoring his legacy by encouraging young people to live drug-free and supporting them in making healthy choices for their future.
Ride safely with free e-bike safety training from the CHP! Parents and younger riders can learn the rules of the road, which e-bikes are legal for their age, and why some vehicles sold as “e-bikes” aren’t legal on public streets.

Protecting Prop 13 remains one of my top priorities in Sacramento. Families work hard to afford a home, and they deserve to know they can afford to stay in it. I’ll keep fighting to protect Prop 13 and push back against efforts to raise your property taxes.

Huell Howser showed us how much there is to love about California, often in places we’d driven past without a second thought. His curiosity and enthusiasm made every person’s story worth hearing.
I was proud to author ACR 54 last year to honor his legacy with Huell Howser Day. This October 18, we celebrate the man who helped us see the gold in our own backyard. What’s your favorite Huell Howser episode?
In 2025, California lost a net 288,600 residents to other states. Too many families are looking elsewhere because they can no longer afford to stay.
I introduced AB 99 to cap rising electricity bills and give families some breathing room. Sacramento let it die.
Families need relief before even more Californians decide they can no longer afford to stay.
Thank you to the Student Senate leaders from the California Community Colleges for visiting my office to share their priorities. I appreciated hearing directly from students about the challenges they face and how we can work together to help them succeed.
Today we celebrated Credit Union Day! I’m grateful to SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union and Southland Credit Union for their commitment to serving #AD70. Their member-owned model puts people first, helping families access the financial resources they need while investing in our community.

I enjoyed joining a panel at Coast Community College District to discuss our shared legislative priorities and how we can work together to expand access to quality education. Grateful for the partnership and our shared commitment to helping students succeed. @CoastColleges
Thank you to the elected officials and community leaders who joined me for a tour of OCVIBE in Anaheim!
With Phase 1 set to open next spring, it’s exciting to see this new entertainment district taking shape around the home of the Anaheim Ducks. A stunning new concert venue and food hall will give Orange County residents even more to enjoy close to home. This major private investment will also create jobs and boost our local economy.
Looking for affordable housing in Garden Grove? The Garden Grove Housing Authority is accepting registrations for its Project-Based Voucher waiting list, which provides rental assistance at designated housing units for eligible households.
Register by October 19 at 5 p.m. The list may close sooner if enough registrations are received, so apply early!
Apply at waitlistcheck.com/CA2299 or call 714-741-5150 for more information. See the flyer for income limits. The separate Section 8 tenant-based voucher waiting list remains closed.
Keeping the lights on shouldn’t break the bank. That’s why I introduced AB 99 to help rein in electricity rate hikes and keep more money in your pocket. California families need relief from bills that keep climbing.
Happy 251st Birthday to the U.S. Navy! Today, I’m proud to honor the sailors who defend our freedom and the Navy veterans here in Orange County. Thank you to all who have served and the families whose sacrifices make that service possible.
It was an honor to introduce Senator Tony Strickland to Buddhist leaders across Little Saigon and hear him share his path to public service. As the son of a Bronze Star recipient whose father served in the U.S. Army during the Tet Offensive, Senator Strickland understands why freedom means so much to the Vietnamese community.
Throughout Little Saigon and Orange County, we hear the same concern: the rising cost of living. We’re committed to advancing policies that lower costs and make California more affordable for the families we serve.
