100% canon. And it’s not just wands. American mages have advanced beyond the traditional wand. They’ve found ways to compartmentalize wand cores into spheres the size of beads or rosaries that themselves can be kept in bracelets, watches, or gloves made from magical wood stuffs. Faster and easier to use than traditional wands, spells can be cast with actual twitches of fingers and flicks or wrists. I call them ‘Compact Wands’ or ‘Rosary Wands’.
