. Undead immortality & toughness
. Can absorb people & gain strength through flesh contact. Killed a rebel commando.
. Strength rivals wookies
. Can make people see their worst fears.
. A bomb in his head Gog can detonate at will.
Finished. The reveal with Hoole & Gogβs ultimate fate were well earned. Vader and the OT heroes all appear here. You also get wraiths, spectral undead fueled by hatred which no weapons besides Ion blasts have any affect on.
Then thereβs the real standout: Eppon. (1/2)
I also like his retro sci-fi design. On Wookieepedia his design is noted to look like the Metaluna Mutant from This Island Earth. Great movie. I have seen the real head prop from that in a local museum.
Gog planned to make them immune to The Force but was unsuccessful. He tried to use them to kill Vader. The kids give him the name Eppon when first appeared as a harmless baby mimicking Gog referring to him as βweaponβ then rapidly aged into an adult and mutated.
A Rebel commando named Rax. Interesting how certain names existed in the EU years before Disney reused them. See also Kybo Ren and Snoke Loroan.
A young Trioculus in the Academy watches the Clone Wars unfold. Like many young men he came to idolize Anakin Skywalker "The Hero with no Fear." But for a youth from the mines of Kessel, the story of a slave turned war hero was especially compelling.
