October 29th is #NationalCatDay. Disdainful disinterest to all those celebrating! 🐈⬛🐈🐱
For Hospice Care Week, I went to see HospiceUK in Parliament to hear about their key issues. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Rennie Grove Peace Hospice in Watford, who are doing incredible work every day to care for Watford residents. Thank you for all you do!
October is Black History Month in the UK, where we can celebrate incredible black heritage and stories. Thank you for everything you’ve done in Watford!
I visited Nisai Learning on Clarendon Road to see the incredible Special Educational Needs and Disabilities education they offer. Their untraditional online education services have increased student attendance rates from 22% to 78%, an amazing achievement. Well done Nisai!
This morning, I went to see the flooding on Cardiff Road. This is a failure of Thames Water to maintain working sewage infrastructure. I have reached out today to both Thames Water and Hertfordshire County Council to urge them to get this fixed.
We held a roundtable for local business, education, healthcare and support services to discuss the high number of young people not in education, employment or training, and solutions for Watford. It was also great to host Lilian Greenwood MP, who presented the DWP work on this.
I was lucky enough to see the incredible innovations in robotic surgery practiced at Watford General recently. This is the future of healthcare, with better outcomes for patients. Thank you to the team working so hard to care for Watford’s residents!

Another great surgery session this week at Meriden Community Centre. Helping Watford residents face-to-face is one of the best bits of my job. If you would like to meet with me, please contact my office at [email protected]
Sometimes, everyone needs a Friday night off. So, tonight I left behind the crazy world of politics and went to see The End Of The World According To #JonathanPie! At the #WatfordColosseum. And very funny it was too!
I worked on the Sporting Events Bill Committee. This is when a small group of MPs work together to scrutinise a Bill in detail. Here, I’m asking about provisions for smaller sporting events, like we see at Vicarage Road. Now the Bill will go back to the Commons for further debate
If you’re having major cosmetic surgery, this Labour government will protect you from rogue operators. High-risk treatments, including some fillers, vampire facials and some laser procedures will be restricted to medical professionals, protecting patients.
This week in the Public Accounts Committee, we discussed the resilience of the UK’s food supply, and what lessons we can learn from other countries to keep the UK’s food supply strong.
Safe to say I dived into Surfers Against Sewage’s swim for clean water at #LPC2026! After talks from Phil Brownlie, Swim England, and Lisa Nandy, Culture, Media and Sport Minister, I joined fellow MPs in a ‘dip in the dock’ to highlight the importance of clean, unpolluted water.
The @whhospcharity does amazing work. It was a delight to join them first thing this morning for the first part of their sponsored charity walk as the beautiful sunshine shone through the autumnal beauty of #CassioburyPark. Well done!
