The butthurtedness of primary losers never ceases to amaze me. It’s a reflection of our modern culture, where everyone seems to be out for themselves and nobody can lose with class or dignity. Everything is all or nothing, every defeat is personal, and accepting the voters’ decision is too much to ask.
If you can’t handle losing an election, you weren’t cut out to lead in the first place.
FWIW, @CookPolitical never shifted #SC01 before @JoeCunninghamSC won in 2018. This is pretty unprecedented.
🚨The Cook Political Report just moved #SC01 — a seat Trump carried by 13 points in 2024 — from Lean Republican to Toss-up.
Nancy Lacore, a former admiral and 35-year Navy veteran, has turned this deep-red seat into one of the most competitive battleground races in the country.

This is a closing message for the ages.
Wow. In unreleased Diary of a CEO interview, @JamesTalarico says “Ken Paxton is a child of god.”

I know Charleston is a basketball town but we may also be turning into a volleyball town. @CofCVolleyball is quickly becoming one of the best mid-major VB programs in America.
Charleston's 19-match winning streak is second in the country behind Nebraska (21 straight).

Ad of the year.
This is what putting South Carolina first looks like.
I’m honored to have the support of two former governors — Republican David Beasley and Democrat Jim Hodges.
We may not agree on everything, but we share a belief that matters most: South Carolina deserves leaders who will always put its people first.

“We should be forever grateful to Pat Conroy, our very own prince of tides,” Sanders told the crowd at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on March 8, 2016.
Conroy once told a reporter that Sanders “is the greatest storyteller to ever come out of the South.” In his collection of stories in “Pat Conroy’s Cookbook,” Conroy called Sanders “mythical and larger than life” and titled his chapter about Sanders the “Greatest of all South Carolinians.”
Conroy was enchanted by Sanders’ voice, which he called “one of the most beautiful instruments I have ever heard.” That voice is “part wheeze, part thunder, with dashes of brogue, drawl and twang. With stresses and pauses, he seasons each phrase. A note of surprise often creeps into his voice, as if he is thinking, ‘Isn’t this amazing?

David Beasley spent more than three decades as a Republican, serving as South Carolina’s governor. He recently announced that he’s walking away from his party as he laments a rise in toxic vitriol emanating from the GOP’s standard-bearer.
"The vitriolic language, the demeaning, divisive, degrading that has taken place, is just completely out of control, and I don't want to be associated with that," he tells @RealAmnaNawaz.

So sad to hear of passing of #alexsanders. Judge Sanders led a remarkable life- great lawyer, legislator, judge, college president, law school founder, and world class storyteller. We ran for office together in 2002 and he said”I don’t want to be boring.” And he never was. RIP.
Be honest, who have you gotten more texts from in the last week?
Your spouse?
Or a political candidate?
I got into politics a hundred years ago because I was inspired by these types of messages.
I got out of politics because no one talks (or acts) like this anymore.
What a welcomed change in tone and overall approach this could be for American democracy.
Quite the tell.
