For #UNDay2026, Lebanese student Samira joined UNHCR 🇱🇧 for a day-long, behind-the-scenes experience. She met colleagues from different departments, visited a community centre & learned how UNHCR supports people forced to flee.
In Saida, Ambassador @DKAmbLebanon met displaced Lebanese & Syrians & heard how they strive to regain their protection and dignity in challenging circumstances.

More than a shelter. Through partnership w/ @Medair_ME and local authorities, over 300 people from heavily damaged or inaccessible areas of south 🇱🇧 now have a safer place to stay, access to essential services, & the support they need while looking ahead to returning home.
🇮🇪 Today, Ireland’s Regional Humanitarian Coordinator visited a Community Development Centre and a collective shelter, meeting refugees and displaced families in Beirut, Lebanon.

مع عودة العائلات إلى مناطقهم في جنوب لبنان، تقف المفوضية إلى جانبهم في خطواتهم الأولى نحو استعادة حياتهم.
في فرون وبرج قلويه، تلقّت أكثر من 100 عائلة عدّة إيواء أساسية لتهيئة منازلهم المتضرّرة قدر الإمكان مع حلول فصل الشتاء.

In Froun and Burj Qalaouiyah, 100+ families received shelter kits with partial repairs in preparation for winter.

Through the 22nd voluntary repatriation convoy from Lebanon to Syria, UNHCR and IOM are helping refugee families return in safety and dignity.

After being forced to leave his home in Froun, southern 🇱🇧, Ali has now returned to what remains of the house he spent a lifetime building.
For many families, returning home is only the beginning of a long & uncertain journey.

في كفردونين، جنوب 🇱🇧، دعمت المفوضية وشركاؤها 350 لبنانياً من المتضررين من النزاع، وقدّمت لهم مستلزمات أساسية، من بينها الفرش والبطانيات.
فقد كثيرون منازلهم، فيما اضطر آخرون إلى العيش في مساكن مستأجرة أو مراكز إيواء، بينما يحاولون استعادة استقرارهم وإعادة بناء حياتهم من جديد.
In Kfardounine, southern 🇱🇧, UNHCR & its partners supported 350 Lebanese people affected by the conflict, providing essential items.
Many have lost their homes, while others have been forced to live in rented apartments or collective shelters as they try to rebuild their lives.
اليوم، يعود علي مع عائلته إلى منزله في فرون، جنوب 🇱🇧، محاولين استعادة حياتهم وسط ما خلّفه الدمار.
علي هو واحد من بين ما لا يقل عن 880 ألف شخص يعودون باتجاه مناطقهم أو مناطق قريبة منها، في رحلة لا تنتهي بمجرد العودة، بل تبدأ معها المحاولة لإعادة بناء الحياة.
