The Trump Administration just weakened rules designed to keep dangerous methane gas from leaking out of oil and gas wells and into our communities, making it easier for bad actors to take advantage of our rural communities. Here in Pennsylvania, we know that you don’t have to choose between creating energy jobs and protecting our environment. We’ve plugged 500 abandoned oil and gas wells — more than the previous 12 years combined — and we’re strengthening our standards to ensure companies follow the law and protect Pennsylvanians’ health. I’m prepared to fight back on this reckless move — and in the meantime, no matter what the Trump Administration does, we’ll keep working to plug these dangerous wells, reduce methane pollution, and protect Pennsylvanians’ clean air and pure water.

I want New Mexicans to know what President Trump’s reckless policy change on methane emissions means for them. Nothing changes for our state’s rules. Our methane standards are some of the strongest in the nation, and they stay in place. Operators here still have to inspect for leaks, limit venting and flaring, and capture 98 percent of their natural gas by the end of this year. We’re also moving forward with our own program to find and fix the largest leaks. These rules work. Since 2020, New Mexico’s oil and gas production has more than doubled. On our side of the Permian Basin, methane intensity is less than half of what it is in Texas. Our rules have kept an additional $125 million worth of natural gas from being wasted. That’s revenue that helps fund universal child care and other programs New Mexico families count on. What does change is the standard everywhere else. Pollution doesn’t stop at the state line. When the federal standard drops, families in southeastern New Mexico are the ones breathing what drifts across the border from operators held to weaker rules. So we’ll keep doing what has worked. We’ll make New Mexico’s case during the federal comment period, work with other states to share what we’ve learned, and keep showing that responsible production and clean air can go hand in hand

For too long, permitting delays have killed projects and raised costs for hardworking New Jerseyans. My Administration is finally fixing it. We've reorganized the teams at DEP and DOT to deliver faster decisions and fewer surprises. In the past few months, they've resolved hundreds of stalled permits and cut years-old backlogs. Now, you can check our work. We're sharing more information about the projects in our permitting dashboard pilot – including the permits they've applied for and a roadmap of what's next to complete. Learn more at permits.nj.gov. I'm on a mission to build a government that delivers for you. That depends on getting permitting right.

While the Trump admin weakens pollution protections, California is launching A SECOND methane-detecting satellite to find major pollution sources and get them fixed — protecting communities and combatting climate change. 🛰️ CalSMP’s program has already helped stop 50 major methane leaks.

This weekend, we celebrated Puget Soundkeeper's work to keep the Puget Sound clean. Thanks for being a strong partner in enforcing laws around clean water and getting trash out of our waterways. It was wonderful to see some of the next generation from Auburn High School who will care for our environment well into the future.

Families need lower electric bills. Our grid needs more power. Massachusetts workers need these jobs. So why is Donald Trump trying to block offshore wind projects that can help deliver all three? Reversing this approval makes no sense. bostonglobe.com/2026/10/21/s…

Michigan saved enough electricity last year to power a city the size of Ann Arbor.⚡ This kind of energy-saving work will save utility customers more than $1.4 billion over the next 12 years. Here’s how it works. 🧵

It’s called energy waste reduction. Every electric and gas utility in Michigan is required to run programs that cut energy waste. For homes, that can mean more efficient lighting, heating and cooling upgrades, weatherization, or recycling an old appliance.

For every $1 utilities spent on these programs last year, customers are expected to save $2.42. They can help hold down costs even if you’ve never signed up. Wasting less energy can help delay or avoid building costly new power plants and soften the hit from rising fuel costs.

A bigger share of this help is reaching lower-income families. More than $162 million went to programs for Michiganders who qualify based on income last year. That’s over a quarter of all spending, up from less than 10% in 2016.

A national scorecard ranks Michigan #1 for natural gas savings as a share of sales and #3 for electricity savings. About 78,000 Michiganders work in energy efficiency, and these programs rely on them. Learn more: michigan.gov/mpsc/commission…

Had a great day meeting with solar energy experts and Senator Conor McGuinness, Chair of the Committee on Fisheries and Maritime Affairs. Exchanging ideas and collaborating on innovative business initiatives like these help to deliver better services for both Maine and Ireland.

• $16 Billion in utility bill relief. • $886 Million in electricity bill credits this year alone. • $37 Billion reinvested in CA communities. • 23,000 megawatts of battery storage strengthening the grid. The Golden State is showing it’s possible to protect the environment AND making life more affordable.

JUST IN: California’s power grid handled its highest electricity demand in four years — without emergency measures or calls for conservation. 50,335 megawatts. Extreme heat. And the lights stayed on. While states like Texas face major grid failures, California’s clean energy investments are delivering a stronger, more resilient grid!

Last month, California's power grid supported the highest electricity demand since 2022 without any emergency measures. That was no accident — the Golden State is proving that clean energy and battery storage systems are the best ways to keep the lights on.

Extreme heat is the nation's leading cause of weather-related deaths. California has spent years building a stronger system to help communities prepare. Now, every ZIP code in California gets a daily heat-risk score! Launched in 2025, CalHeatScore became the nation’s first statewide heat-ranking system — giving Californians an early look at dangerous heat so they can prepare before it hits. calheatscore.calepa.ca.gov/m…
