This is so incredibly sad and tragic—-a young Dad with a wife and two small children killed by a reckless bike in Central Park.
Central Park has become incredibly unsafe and it’s difficult to cross because THEY ( Transportation Alternatives and Riders Alliance, front groups for the car share and delivery apps who want to eliminate private cars so they can own our streets for their profit) convinced the community boards and @NYC_DOT and elected leaders to eliminate the red lights in the Park! There is no speed limit for bikes and they show no mercy to pedestrians. Parents with small children, people walking their dogs, workers trying to get to work or home, are all at their mercy. This whole street takeover over the last ten years has been a shameful, greedy power play at the expense of everyday New Yorkers and history will judge it very poorly.
Tomorrow 9 AM City Hall steps and then the council hearing on the LONG OVERDUE Priscilla’s Law. Join if you can .

Friends, Fulton Sheen was a fierce voice against communism, recognizing its threat and its essential atheism. He would be deeply troubled by its comeback in our country.
While in St. Louis, I shared with Fox why we need that voice again today. Read it below:

I lost my Dad on 9/11. I don’t get a lot of reach on here. But I just wanted to share a picture. He was 39. I thought he was old. I’m now in my mid 30s and I still feel like a kid.
He was a great trader. He loved markets. He loved to find a stock no one was talking about.
The first trade I ever placed was on his work computer, where he let me click the button to buy AMAT. I loved going to the office with him. It was electric.
He was the best dad. We spent hours out in the street after dinner where he’d throw “pop flys” for me to catch. Eye on the ball.
He loved watching Sponge Bob and eating cereal, wrestling with us in the living room. He just loved being around his kids so much, and we knew it. I’m so grateful I got a dad like that.
Love you, Pops.

The tragic case of the young Cambridge professor, Jason Arday, has shed new light on the moral vacuity at the heart of Wokeism.
If I can state the matter abstractly, one should never place relative values in the center of one’s ethical concern. Only absolute goods belong in that location.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are values, but only, as the medievals would have said, secundum quid and not in se. That means they are worthwhile sometimes and under certain conditions, but not in themselves.
In contrast, love and justice are absolute moral principles, for they are always applicable, no matter the circumstances.
Wokeism relativized justice (rendering to each his due) and love (willing the true good of the other) and absolutized diversity, equity, and inclusion. The result is the moral shipwreck that we have been witnessing the last ten years.
What makes things even sadder is that lots of people have been profiting off of this moral confusion.

“LET THEM FLOOD”- NYC leadership. There are roughly 150,000 catch basins across the five boroughs, and too many are clogged, backed up or going far too long without being properly cleaned. That means when the rain comes down, the water has nowhere to go. Streets flood, intersections become dangerous, businesses take on water and neighborhoods in the outer boroughs and Lower Manhattan pay the price.
Cleaning leaves and garbage off the top is not enough. DEP trucks need to clear the buildup inside the catch basins and keep them functioning BEFORE the storm comes, not after neighborhoods are already underwater.
The Mayor and DEP need to publish a basin-by-basin cleaning schedule and a record of when each one was actually serviced. New Yorkers deserve to know whether the infrastructure on their block is being maintained.
Here is the warning: the next major storm is coming. We know where the flooding happens. We know clogged drainage makes it worse. There is no excuse for waiting until the damage is done.
City Hall spends billions on new programs while failing at basic services New Yorkers already pay for.
Clean the catch basins. Fix the drainage. Prepare before the storm. They fail us on the basics time and time again- because they don’t care. Keep fighting.

This is incorrect. Jason Arday was responded to as a symbol of a tribe against whom there is much animus but that tribe was not “black people.” It was Critical Social Justice (woke) activists. And enablement of the wrongdoing was directly tied to the views of that movement

Replying to @AyoCaesar
Why was Jason Arday's plagiarism a front-page story, and not Johann Hari's? Or Dr William O'Reilly's?
Because when white people do wrong, they're seen as individuals, and not stand-ins for their entire race.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Arday's case goes way beyond plagiarism. He lied on his bio, his credentials, he invented attacks on him, he sent police to shut down research into his own academic fraud. It ceased to be plagiarism case a long time ago. theguardian.com/education/ng-i…

The “woke 1 was crazzzzy” people are bullies who wanted to assert their own dominance & bring other people down, and did so in the way that was available to them. Now that “woke 1” is over the same people are doing the same thing, but in a new way with different targets.

Lest anyone think I’m exaggerating, the lunatics who canceled me demanded armed guards at the symphony hall, they demanded to be hidden in safehouses, they SWATted my house, they fled town to escape the murder plot they claimed I was planning – it’d be funny if they hadn’t been so high on their own supply.
And what did the symphony do? Legitimize their delusions at every step which made them unstoppable: they collected social justice prize money, forced their way into academia, weaponized civil court against me and sidelined my symphony career forever. And not a single one of them suffered any professional consequences.
God only knows what they might’ve done if the powers that be had told them “No” at any point but it could’ve easily ended in loss of life, possibly mine. These people are dangerous, not just to their coworkers and to the institutions that employ them but to themselves as Jason Arday was.
Never affirm someone’s delusions, it only leads to ruin.

You don’t hear the left complaining much about ‘large corporations’ anymore, who are now often their allies or who at minimum view paying off the left as a cost of business.
What the left hates most is small business owners (who as a class reflexively favor reactionary politics and who are much harder to extract concessions from) and broad small-scale private property ownership.
The left wants people to be renters… from the state. And not property owners. The left wants people employed… by the state or by state funded enterprises. They don’t want people to own small businesses.
One of the best things the right can do to create an organic bulwark against the left accreting power is to create conditions that broadly distribute direct, small scale ownership of businesses and properties (and in particular residential properties that the owner occupies at least one unit of). If you give people a stake in the system they’re much less likely to be co-opted as supplicants to the left.
