The Government of South Africa announced the inclusion of holders of valid Ugandan passports in South Africa’s Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) system.
But what does this actually mean for Ugandans planning to travel to South Africa?
👉 You apply online before travelling.
👉 You do not need a VFS appointment for the eTA application.
👉 You must still meet all applicable immigration and entry requirements when you arrive.

The system is heavily automated and Ai based and as such, and small mistake becomes immediately classified as fraud & once the anti fraud mechanism is triggered, both your passport number, email address, phone number and IP address becomes flagged and you can’t make any other application successfully with the same passport, until the system kicks off the submitted application by itself, but for urgent travels, the ever hands on ambassador @AmoruPaul and the team at the @UgEmbassySA will assist instantly. Reach them out.
Please make sure you don't make any mistakes on the South Africa E-visa application. I made a mistake 3 weeks ago and sent several emails to have the wrong application deleted so I could apply correctly, but none worked. I cannot submit a new application and was meant to travel today. How can I be helped? @HomeAffairsSA @UgandaMFA
