Today in History! The press conference held on October 28, 2000, at Crest House in Kampala remains one of the most consequential turning points in Uganda's post-1986 political history. By declaring his candidacy for the 2001 presidential election, Dr. @kizzabesigye1 transformed the nation's political landscape from a unified "Movement" system into a fiercely contested struggle for power.  His declaration gave birth to the Reform Agenda, a political pressure group made up of NRM insiders, historicals, and youth who were disillusioned with President Museveni’s rule. This group later evolved into the Forum for Democratic Change (@FDCOfficial1) which became Uganda's primary opposition party for nearly two decades.
