LANTERNS EPISODE 6 (“Bad Optics”) DETAILED REVIEW Ten year jump. Whole hour is 2026. John is an architect now. Hal is dead in that football stadium from Episode 1. The show basically starts the murder mystery again after last week’s explosion. 🔥 What Works: • Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner is fun. Cocky, loud, exactly the guy you don’t want at a funeral. • Hal’s last diner scene with John is heavy. Kyle Chandler still owns it. • Funeral is awkward and weirdly moving. John reading Hal’s own eulogy is a great bit. • Ending with John digging up the grave and turning on the Halogram is a smart way to keep Chandler around. ⚠️ What Doesn’t: • After Episode 5 this feels like a soft reboot. Energy drops hard. • Who killed Hal barely moves. Lots of talking, little progress. • Missing the Hal and John team-up from earlier episodes. • Some DCU name drops feel like homework instead of story. 🎬 FINAL VERDICT: 7/10 Quiet hangover episode.
