From today’s Palestine Action court case.
“The state always wishes to have further powers to prevent crime, but the line has to be drawn somewhere. The proscription was an excessive reaction, and they didn’t need to go there.” 🎯

It is beyond me how one of the most senior judges in the country can draw this conclusion from the submission before him.
If he thinks that Supreme Court judges will be arrested for declaring the proscription unlawful, then we really are in authoritarian times.

Congratulations #spycops inquiry on releasing transcripts of lyin', spyin' UCO HN15 Mark Jenner telling porky pies a mere 308 days and 306 days after it happened!
Never did a whitewash feel so cynically manipulated!

Another one. See also #spycops who moved on to DPP firearms command. This unit chased out a senior female manager.
A former Metropolitan police officer who served in the same unit as Sarah Everard’s killer Wayne Couzens has been found guilty of sexual offences, including rape, against a woman he met through his work as an officer. #anotherone #throwawaythekey theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…

Throughout the #spycops inquiry, former undercover police officers have applied for anonymity on the basis of mental health issues and some have professed to suicidal intent. My view is that sex offenders waive their right to anonymity the minute they go around raping people >
The two-day High Court trial involving a well-known public figure, referred to in court as “PPT”, has concluded. He is seeking an injunction to prevent The Guardian and ITN from publishing allegations of inappropriate and exploitative sexual activity involving girls and young women.
The media’s case involves more than 30 sources with first-hand accounts about him.
At the end of the trial on Wednesday, Mr Justice Nicklin said he hoped to deliver a decision next week.
“The court will have to reserve judgment in this case. I appreciate the urgency. I will do everything I can to deliver a judgment next week,” he said.
The judge added that the parties “need to be ready” early next week.

It's worth noting that these transcripts illustrate Helen Steel's exemplary grasp of detail and razor-sharp analysis.
In T3P3D26 she nails how MPSB officers inside and outside of SDS knew HN5 John Dines & she were in a relationship, and that HN10 Bob Lambert set it up.

But these (and 9 more exhibits) were previously accessible through the Index to Bundle released in August. It's almost as if the chaotically byzantine publishing schedule of the #spycops inquiry is intentional.

Helen Steel managed to ask the question that had eluded every counsel to the inquiry over the years: if the met's apology was truly apologetic, why did it put its heart into withholding every drop of information it could? Well beyond the point of dignity?

NB: We still don't know the real name of 'Dave Evans'.
Why does the inquiry insist on protecting the identities of proven liars like him & 'Matt Rayner' - after previously promising not to do this for any #spycops who'd deceived women for sex?

But despite letting its press office know to expect this delivery, the Home Office staff were reluctant to receive it. Almost as if they don't want to hear what #Spycops survivors want for the future of this public inquiry. #Democracy #Police #Undercover
