It was an amazing day here @UUtah as we celebrated the opening of the new Spencer Fox Eccles @UofUMedicine building, a celebration led by Mr. Spencer Fox Eccles himself, who along with the entire Eccles family charged us to take the School of Medicine to new heights. It is a mandate we take seriously in our efforts to serve our community.
If you’ve received medical care anywhere in Utah, there’s a good chance someone involved in your care was trained at @UofUHealth.
Utah is growing quickly, and medicine is changing just as fast. This new space will help prepare our students for both. They’ll carry that training into hospitals and communities across Utah and the Mountain West.
I’m grateful to everyone who helped us create this new space, including Eccles family and Eccles foundations, @Ch_JesusChrist, @Intermountain, @PresidentUofU Taylor Randall, @GovCox, our donors, alumni, faculty, staff, students, Dumke Foundation, ARUP, Bill and Pat Child, Heather Kahlert, @UUtah and state leaders, and everyone who helped make this new home for medical education possible.
The new building will increase the University’s capacity to educate physicians and other health professionals as Utah and neighboring states face growing health care workforce needs. across health disciplines.
