The fact that Chow blew Brad out of the water in the advance vote seems to contradict this.

Two things to keep in mind 1) other pollsters continued to show Chow at 50-53% while Mainstreet and influencer group Build Canada suddenly showed BB leading 2) exposing an opponent’s bad policy is part of what campaigns are about

I just hope Bradford takes some time off to be a dad and tries to see what everyone else sees in this city.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow's team has pulled together their summary of the numbers in the election last night, which the incumbent won emphatically over Brad Bradford. #TOpoli Here's an extract from their release:

I had hoped this result might end this but clearly it won't. Chow has consistently and relentlessly called out hate crime and prejudice of all kinds - especially for the Jewish community. She has upped police presence, set-up command posts, expanded police hate crime units and - notably - taken a lot of heat for backing the (likely unconstitutional) bubble-zone laws - in a good faith effort to address community concerns. And in response she's gotten abuse, ridicule, insults (often racist). She gets Ezra Levant bursting into meetings with synagogue leaders to scream insults. She gets a millionaire in a MAGA hat claiming she is a moral failure while making racist insults. And she gets completely disingenuous claims that she shouldn't speak on foreign affairs coupled with claims that her jobs requires her to March with Israel - and support Trump's invasion of Iran. She's better than I am. She still shows up - knowing that it gains her nothing. If people want to take their political cues from political opportunists like Warren Kinsella, if they want to fund political hacks who sow division for partisan advantage, than they will face rejection. But that is not a rejection of the Jewish community in this City. And I think those who claim it does are doing their community, and the whole City, a grave disservice.
My reaction to last night's result in my hometown: "A vote for Chow was, if nothing else, a vote that didn’t care about what Toronto’s Jewish community has suffered. In the overwhelming majority of cases, I suspect people never even thought about it at all."

Your contempt for the voters might have something to do with why your guy lost

John Tory said Olivia Chow, as an incumbent, should have won by more. He didn’t say Chow got more votes tonight than any Toronto mayor ever, including Tory (3 times) #TorontoVotes2026

Quick election thoughts: - Twitter isn’t real life. - Calling Toronto a “wasteland” & trying to scare people while crime rates decline, didn’t work. - Bring Islamophobes into Brad’s campaign & then tepidly denouncing them when called out, bad strategy. - This is a huge mandate.
