Hello.
My family needs your help.
As a matter of urgency we are asking for help that we cannot find from a broken system - so we are reluctantly doing a fundraiser. We are not used to asking for help for ourselves. So you can imagine what it took to ask for help in this way.
Rest assured we are in contact with the local authority and other relevant organisations, and as parents we are experienced in supporting others - we work in the social justice and grant funding fields - but as we all know, the web of systems to navigate is complex and often not able to offer the right help at the right time. This is the case here.
For anyone able to donate to this fundraiser, we’d be grateful. Perhaps you might share this post and encourage others to donate too?
It’s hard for many at the moment.
This is a way of doing something tangible and good that will be transformative for a family. Now, and in the long term.
The kindness of strangers is key to reach this fundraising target.
Thank you.
X Mum to a family in need.

Hello!
It doesn’t cost anything to repost but it helps me spread the word about my small business.
My online shop is full of bold & colourful prints, homewares and cards.
I’m also available for freelance design work and art licensing.

It beggars belief how many people would be prepared to vote for a party (I use the term loosely) without the first idea of what they stand for other than ‘Stop the boats’. 🤷♂️
Retweet far and wide.

Independent creative businesses are quietly having a tough time.
So if there’s a maker, illustrator or designer whose work you love, this is a good time to tell people about them. Buy something if you can. Share their work if you can’t.

15 years ago today, a good friend and sister from another mister, and her beautiful unborn baby, died. It was traumatic for all of us. In a lot of ways it still is.
She was a fervent defender of social justice and a strong voice against prejudice and hate. I hold her in my heart whenever I speak up against anything. Or work with any community action.
The Purple Oxalis Triangularis was one of her favourite plants. I have systemically killed every single one I’ve tried to love and take care of in our home. It would have made her laugh. Apparently I can grow courgettes in an old plastic recycling bin, but not house plants. Unless it’s a spider plant. And even then...
Know we’re fundraising for our own family, but instead, today, we’d be so grateful if you might consider a donation to @AmnestyUK in memory of R&B.
Thank you

Wouldn’t that be something? Ain’t never happening mind! We had tickets to see Morgan Wallen at Gorilla but Covid struck and by the time we came out the other side he’d become a mega star doing stadiums and arenas at £120 a pop
Imagine, as a parent or carer, fighting systems all the time, relentlessly advocating and just regularly failing. Imagine, knowing what your children need but not being able to provide it.
The web of systems that does exist is patchy and unreliable.
We’re trying to get some things in place to help our children, so at least they will have the infrastructure and equipment in place to help them at home.
Help us? We’re fundraising.

Thank you.
There is real kindness in the world.
I’ve heard so many stories of work and movements for change this evening.
People can be pretty mega.
Can recommend volunteering.
In the words of the keynote tonight, it’s not just about giving. It’s a two-way street.

Isn’t it great that we’re celebrating David Attenborough’s 100th birthday whilst ignoring the message he’s spent the last 20 years trying to get through to us:
We are looking for help to reduce the amount of child on parent violence we experience, daily. There’s a lot going on with children like ours.
Our experience is not unique.
The services that do exist for our children are patchy and best. We’ve been told services can help us. So we’re trying to get stuff sorted at home to help.
Consider donating to our fundraiser?
DM for more context if you’d like.
We just need help now. Thank you.
