I am very proud of my current urology fellow, who has been in 🇲🇽 for just one month and 20 days.
In that time, she has performed 40 #HoLEP procedures and significantly improved her enucleation skills.

HOLEP REDO: The fear of urinary incontinence after prostate enucleation has led urologists to leave tissue at the apex "to ensure continence." What we're not considering is that leaving tissue at the apex quickly makes it obstructive and requires rapid reintervention. I believe that if we clearly identify the sphincter, we can achieve both continence and unobstructed bladder without having to choose between one or the other. Here I show you the 6th HOLEP REDO I've performed, before and after.

I took advantage of a trip to Peru 🇵🇪 for an international congress of the American Confederation of Urology @CAU_URO to combine two of my other passions: extreme sports and exploring new cultures. I rode a motocross bike to the summit of the "Seven-Colored Mountain" ⛰️ (Rainbow Mountain). It was an extremely high-risk activity, given the altitude of 5,200 meters above sea level, but I thoroughly enjoyed the adrenaline rush 🤩.

I am proud to announce the launch of our first #fellowship in Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (#HoLEP) a 100–120 case program in six months designed to ensure the urologist masters the technique.
And that’s not all: they will also become a proctor.
We informally call it the "Proctor factory"; Dra. Lourdes Fermín @LourdesFerminC will be the first Proctor in her country 🇩🇴 , meaning the Dominican Republic will now have a HoLEP pioneer.
