#editors, explore the five stages of grief on a fantastical, macabre quest through the afterlife in this Over the Garden Wall x Beetlejuice cozy fantasy horror! 🌈🫀🪦 On submission now and represented by Bethany Hendrix of Spencerhill Associates!
I just figured out they have people do book signings at the National Funeral Directors Association each year and now this is like a goal of mine if I get published 😂
Finally cut my Horror Romance WIP down to 100 K 👀 now let’s see if I can hit 98 K during my final read through next week before this is ready to send to my agent in the winter

Jumpscares for writers this Halloween 🎃
- ao3 being down for maintenance for 2-4 weeks
- realising you've used the word 'just' 892 times in your manuscript
- someone asking you what your book is about
- laptop crashes & you didn't hit save
- your family asking to read your book

Talking with my funeral director friends is so funny because what do you mean we have specific lists of who is allowed (and isn’t allowed) to embalm us?? 😭 Anyway my family has very specific instructions for my funeral #funeraldirector #funeraldirectorlife

I’ve had 2 agents and 3 books die on submission over the past 3 years. It can be easy to want to give up writing, but I can say with 100% confidence, KEEP GOING. You never know what book will be “the one”. The world needs your stories, and you’re the only one who can tell them.

Chatting w/ a writer friend about THE RETURN OF THE CERULEAN BLUR. I knew the MC wore blue & was "The X Blur" b/c she is a super-speedster.
"The Blue Blur" is a tongue twister. So I looked up a list of blue shades & "Cerulean" jumped out!
ALT As the Cerulean Blur, Susan Murphy battled supervillains, helped others, and soaked in the public adoration—all at 2,000 mph. But a tragic mistake ended Susan’s superhero career 17 years ago and sent her life into a tailspin. When Susan is forced to use her powers again, it opens a dialogue with her estranged son, Troy—and gets the attention of a deadly foe from her past. For Susan Murphy to live, the Cerulean Blur must run again.

Tonight I got to meet Mona Awad and tell her I’m on submission to publishers at a fall workshop put on by my former university 🥹 incredible, so kind of her to come to Omaha!
It was such a fun line!! The humor in this one is the best!
A fellow author sent me a message yesterday saying she found a line in THE RETURN OF THE CERULEAN BLUR entertaining. 🥲
That little DM totally made my day. Good reminder to me to always send the kind note.
