and... @VSCodeJava 1.46.0 is out! Bringing Java 25 support (Duh!), perf. improvements 🚀, but also new inlay hints for implicit (i.e. var) types, you can enable with this setting:
"java.inlayHints.variableTypes.enabled": true
And more! See details at:
github.com/redhat-developer/…
Pre-release builds of @VSCodeJava, are now available from @code. There will be at most 1 update per day.
Kudos to the @JavaAtMicrosoft team for making this happen.
Replying to @alblue
How many IDEs have turned auto-save by default? Anyways
BTW, our friends at @JavaAtMicrosoft released a new version of vscode-java-debug that supports inlining values in the editor while debugging.
Set "debug.inlineValues": true in your settings.json
Coming soon in @code: resizable completion widget
Finally!🎉
Already available in @code insiders.

So, @EclipseJavaIDE 2020-09 was released today. Same bits are included in @VSCodeJava 0.67.0, available now. Also includes support for copyright headers in new files, import of @ASFMavenProject, @Gradle
, Eclipse projects in the same folder & more... See github.com/redhat-developer/…
After a summer ⛱️ hiatus, it's time to go back to work with vscode-java 0.66.0 (the best ever). Faster code action resolution, new resource filters to speed up builds, semantic highlighting by default, (hopefully) clearer requirements... learn more from github.com/redhat-developer/…
