Way to go, A44!! 🥪
A44 is not your average sandwich tern!🥪This seabird is the first of its species our team has sighted from the Virginia Shorebird Project & is also part of a large nesting population that was displaced after the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel expansion.

Ontario 1st Migrants have been reported down south!
Both from fledglings from our Lake Ontario Nest, one has been reported in North Carolina, and the other in Virginia.
We're so thrilled to hear about these winter sightings and hope to hear from other Ontario Piping Plover soon!

Who's that visiting the Virginia Coast Reserve?
This week is peak spring migration for red knots (Calidris canutus rufa) in Virginia, which means thousands of them are stopping here along their northward journey to their breeding grounds. 1/4

It’s classic @vcrlter for both captain and crew to compliment each other on being great.
Today they even both sent photo proof.
