Launch week lesson, from just two posts.
By Thursday our launch post had 61 impressions. A post asking Shopify founders to recheck their conversion rate after bot filtering had 137.
Small sample, but a hint: people lean in when it's about their own numbers. Lead with theirs.
This year, I talked with 60+ Shopify operators making >$5M, from all the industries that you can imagine:
From companies selling rare boardgames to selling underwear, ginger shots, diapers, functional mushrooms, sex toys, or smart toilet seats.
That's what I learned it works now:
Shopify now drafts the facts AI shopping agents get about your store, straight from your own pages.
None of it reaches an agent until you publish it. Unreviewed means unpublished.
Open Sales channels > Agentic > Knowledge base this week and decide what agents should know.
More creative won't fix Meta if it all says the same thing.
Of 122,574 ads we classified:
• 82.6% use the same 3 angles
• 50.8% of hooks open with a curiosity gap
• 1.6% use comparison
100 more lookalike ads buys nothing. Find the angle nobody in your category owns.
Hi all!
Is anyone working with DTC Shopify merchants running Meta ads for them?
I'd need a quick favor + have an opportunity, as well
From today, Meta adds product browsing to existing ads unless you opted out.
A tap may now open a Meta product page before your own. That can change what your PDP tests and attribution see.
Hold out some ads and judge revenue per visitor, not Meta's conversion count.
How many of last month's Shopify sessions were real people?
Shopify turned on bot filtering by default in late September. One operator reran August: bots were ~60% of traffic. Conversion rate went from 0.66% to 1.57%.
Recheck the number you already reported.
Agree. A Meta dependency is really a dependency on one acquisition cost. The brands that ride out bad weeks have repeat revenue carrying a big share of every month.
Good flag. Anyone with a checkout test live right now should annotate this date, otherwise a platform change gets credited to whatever test was running.
Tip 1 is the whole game: know what CAC you can afford before launch. For a subscription brand I'd set it from 90-day contribution per cohort, not the first order. That CLV-first math is what Commander runs, it just went live.
$50k at 30%, almost always. Same profit, half the ad spend and inventory at risk, half the exposure when Q4 CPMs spike. The real question is which campaigns pulled you from 30 to 21. We just launched Commander to show exactly that: omniconvert.com/launch
Reviews are the cheat code for this. Customers already describe the tiny situations ('swapped every container in my kitchen'), each one is a node waiting for an ad.
This is why I trust reviews over founders. A 55-year-old's exact phrasing ('I can garden again') beats any hook we'd write. Commander, which just went live, writes ads straight from that review language.
Solid map. The folder I'd add before 'Produce With AI': Profit. Angles that win on CPA but ride a discounted offer can lose money. We just launched Omniconvert Commander to tie review mining, ads and landing pages to profit per campaign: omniconvert.com/launch

Most Shopify brands don't lack data. They have too much, and still ask: so what do I do next?
Today we launch Commander. It turns Shopify, ad and review data into one ranked list of decisions, plus on-brand creatives to test them.

Now that's what I call a great CRO tweak
That checkbox is a sneaky, yet very decent and beautiful CRO tactic.
Well done, @profgalloway!
