It is the honor of a lifetime to join @kamalaharris in this campaign.
I’m all in.
Vice President Harris is showing us the politics of what’s possible. It reminds me a bit of the first day of school.

Today, we remember Mr. George Floyd who was lynched by a system of police brutality. We must always fight for new laws federally, at the state, & locally to protect lives like his, Ms. Breonna Taylor’s, Airmen Fortson’s, Mr. Tyre Nichols’ and too many more. #BlackLivesMatter

I’m saddened, hurt, frustrated and in pain as we grieve for lives lost to another terrible mass shooting at home in Memphis. We don’t need to lose more people to fight to end this epidemic @CSexton25 @tnhousegop! We don’t have to keep losing people!

Memphis and Team Turner: I want to first thank God for the opportunity and blessing to present myself for Memphis Mayor to the people. I next want to thank my family for standing beside me during this journey. They sacrificed so much, and I am forever grateful for their sacrifice. Next, I must thank all of my donors and volunteers and my campaign manager Jeremy Halbert-Harris, finance chair Michael Lipe, volunteer coordinator Shnesa Wiggins, and field operations team lead by Allan H. Creasy, Jon Carroll, John R. Marek, Omar Salinas, and Antonio Suggs. Finally, I appreciate all who endorsed me and believed not only in me, but also in my vision for the city, including Congressman Stephen Cohen, Senator Sara Kyle, Representative Justin J. Pearson, Mayor Lee Harris, DA Steve Mulroy, Representative G.A. Hardaway Sr., Assessor Melvin Burgess, Trustee Regina Morrison Newman, Clerk Heidi Kuhn, Chairman Martavious Jones, Councilman Jeff Warren, Attorney Henry E. Reaves III, The Collective PAC, AFL-CIO, SACE, Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood, Stand for Children - Tennessee, and Memphis for All.
After Tammie circled yes, she was my escort at the Mr. Havenview coronation in 1990. Although Tammie told me no a few times, my smile in this picture tells the outcome of the story. I pray that the end of the story has not yet been written for me as I continue fighting for those who have no voice or platform but deserve to be as much a part of this city as anyone else.
Congrats to Mayor-Elect Paul Young and thanks to all who fought to lead this city, including Sheriff Floyd Bonner Jr., former Mayor WW Herenton and others. Chronicles II, Chapter 15:7 says: “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.” This will not make us weak but only stronger! Thanks to all again as we start the next chapter!
