"X-Men" director Bryan Singer posted a memory from working with Patrick Stewart:
"Patrick was also a wonderfully fun and adventurous man. One memory still makes me laugh. Knowing what an enormous Star Trek fan I was, Patrick invited me to dinner at his home. What he neglected to mention was that William Shatner would be joining us. I completely freaked out! Patrick knew exactly what he was doing."

Ian McKellen pays tribute to Patrick Stewart, his close friend of many years:
“Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love,” McKellen wrote on Instagram.
“America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.”
“His farewell performance in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is yet to be seen,” McKellen concluded.

James Gunn says he would "bend over backwards" to include Harley Quinn in the DCU but she "may be over" playing that character:
“I think that ‘The Suicide Squad’ is within the canon of the DCU. It’s decided,” Gunn said on “The Suicide Squad: Is It Canon? The Official Podcast.” “I’d say we have one small asterisk, which is what exactly is the future of Harley Quinn? I want to be given a little leeway with this by the fans because I’m not sure exactly how that’s going to manifest itself. But other than that, I think that we can pretty much say the entire movie is canon. I don’t think there’s a problem.”
“She’s just so crazy. I love her as Harley. I don’t know if she wants to play Harley again. She may be over that."

Rebecca Romijn, who co-starred with Patrick Stewart in the “X-Men” movies and is also part of the “Star Trek” universe, pays tribute to the late star:
“I feel so grateful to have known him for the last 25 years, and to have been in his orbit… both as a fellow mutant and as a fellow member of Starfleet. He was positively delicious, hilarious, naughty, incredible sense of humor, and that booming voice of his that always spoke to the very back of the room, as every classically trained Shakespearean great needs to master, has always been an inspiration. I send my condolences to his family, and I’ll miss my friend dearly. Rest in peace, Patrick.”

Geordi La Forge actor LeVar Burton pays tribute to his “Star Trek” co-star Patrick Stewart:
“He was family. There is no other context in which to hold him that makes sense. I am lucky to have known and loved so many of the facets of a soul so rich in talent and generous of heart. Of all the Dames and Knights I’ve known he was deep down-the silliest.”

Patrick Stewart's final movie role will be in "Avengers: Doomsday," in which he reprises the iconic "X-Men" character Charles Xavier.
In one of Stewart’s now-final interviews published by TV Insider in July, the actor spoke about his decision to star in “Avengers: Doomsday” and told fans that he would never “retire” from acting.
“As any actor my age will tell you, there are fewer and fewer available roles as we get older. That being said, I still continue to receive interesting offers and I love being challenged by new work,” Stewart said at the time. “I can’t imagine ever officially retiring. I’ll always and forever be an actor.”
