Okay maybe I'm wrong and the launch smoother than I thought? 😯

Disappearing from other games (except one due to prior promises) for a long while to start my WoW: Forever addiction.

The DBD community isn’t “soft” because some people get offended by slurs.
The reason it’s “soft” is because the community is filled with miserable losers who treat the video game like it’s real life and will harass/threaten you over your playstyle, perks, crouching, ect.
Why do sites go out of their way to list 3 of the America timezones but not all 4 for game releases? My timezone exists too 😭 4pm MST btw
If you won't list us then fuck CST & EST too, don't list them. </3 hmph... meanies. Why can't they convert tooooo
I can't believe I need to say this but p l e a s e do NOT spy on/stalk my streams to gather info and spread drama.
Hate me, I don't care. Hate the people I play with, sad but fine. But I don't need some psycho who spied on me coming up in my space just to start some drama.
I realized an issue with my Twitch channel. Yeah I fixed it. Is fine. We good. Shoulda fixed it like 2 months ago but I forgot about the feature until now.

This apology absolutely skirts around the points being made by us. Trying to Frame this as an internal approval issue completely sidesteps the big question, why was this particular creator being given these benefits in the first place?? what was the reason that led to the decision? Trying to say the correct approvals weren't obtained doesn't really address any of the concerns people have nor does it explain WHY those concerns were initially dismissed (YOU EVEN SAID SO IN THIS APOLOGY) Accountability means addressing the decision itself and not just the process surrounding it.
You also reference your "core values" without defining what those are or how any of this contradicts them? If these values are so important to Dead by Daylight enough to invoke an apology with that included then surely the community deserves to understand what they mean in practice! Values shouldn't just be a convenient phrase that is used to distance a company from individual conduct it should be something consistently demonstrated, which lacks in this entire situation.
Threats and harassment towards employees are completely unacceptable and nobody should be subjected to that but it's important not to conflate that behaviour with actual criticism or use it to try and overshadow the concerns being raised. The community has EVERY right to question your decisions and expect answers. You acknowledge you've let people down but offer such little transparency and accountability or meaningful reassurance about what will change in the future. The community deserve an apology that dresses the issue itself and not just the fallout.
This weekend, a Dead by Daylight team member awarded in-game content and currency to a creator streaming our game. Although it is not unusual to unlock content to give creators discovering DbD a chance to have a sneak peek at available content, this decision was made without receiving appropriate approvals. Furthermore, the team member's subsequent comments and conduct do not align with Dead by Daylight’s core values.
When concerns about this decision became apparent during the stream, we should have responded by looking into these concerns, not dismissing them.
Unfortunately, we’ve now seen the fallout of this decision unfolding in many conversations across the DbD community. We appreciate and stand with our community’s willingness to ensure our shared values are being upheld, at all times, regardless of popularity, and we’re heartbroken at the inflammatory language now being directed towards our community.
At the same time, threatening employees will never be acceptable, and we’re asking everyone to stop engaging with these posts.
We apologize to our community for letting you down. We have already begun reviewing our internal processes to prevent an incident like this from happening again.
I'm mad for the same reasons explained by many others. However, I also understand this is hardly going to be losing them any business so they do not care either way. Everyone angry will still keep playing, will still keep spending money, etc. And BHVR obviously knows this...

I haven't said anything about the current situation here as anything I would want to say echoes what others have already mentioned. But I want to make sure folks know where I stand on the entire situation:
I feel heartbroken and frustrated. Not only by how this situation started, but how it has escalated and so far been handled by DBD. All we have been given is a post (not even on the main account) with words that mean little.
I don't understand how someone can go on the offical DBD Twitch account, at home, out of work hours, potenially under the influence and "collab" with a creator without prior authorisation, not to mention the creator involved/the fan base they enable. Their flippant response to this entire situation shows how meaningless that "collab' was to them as it's just another meme for them to use for content.
Something so small to that creator has left an entire community distraught over the weekend, getting all kinds of comments, slurs & threats on their socials, DMs and streams... ALL because of one decision made by one employee.
How can you build a community over the last 10 years that stands for equality, representation and acceptance... to just lose all that confidence with one decision? Is this what your company stands for or is this just one rogue employee who has taken advantage of their position?
One of my biggest gaming pet peeves is being told how to do something in a game I've played for quite a long time now. Like yes, thanks for telling me how to do something on WoW, a game I've been playing since 11. I totally had zero clue.
There's a difference between fighting for what's right and being a bully. Doesn't matter how right your side is (or how right you think it is), it depends on how you act & treat others along the way.
Rip Thefirst. Started Hardcore for once finally. Been Duoing with my friend but my Warrior was my solo character. She died because a gnoll ran too fast from her and one of the trappers trapped her. so sad.
Saw my HC WoW guild arguing about Asmongold. One of them said the 'extreme hate is weird' like... doesn't the dude view third world countries as lesser humans and isn't he incredibly bigoted? I know there's a lot more to list but I think extreme hate is justified...
Was finally able to, it wasn't the names I was worried about. It was the faction imbalances I was worried about.
