See, these are my kind of developers. That's why I don't agree with the complaints about the combat (And don't listen to them, it gets more difficult as you progress) Personally, challenging combat does absolutely nothing for me. Give me a good story and let me enjoy it ✨
The creators of Phantom Blade Zero don’t want players to suffer like they do in Dark Souls. According to the head of S-Game, life is already hard enough without having to struggle in video games too.
The developers have tried to eliminate unnecessary frustration while keeping combat spectacular and intense:
Death carries no major penalties.
Defeated enemies do not respawn.
Boss fights feature checkpoints between phases, so players won’t have to restart the entire battle.
Three difficulty settings are available: Easy, Normal, and Hard.
A permadeath mode unlocks after completing the game.
“We want as many people as possible to have fun, relax, and enjoy the game. And for those seeking a challenge, we’ll offer an extra dose of adrenaline.”
The core philosophy behind Phantom Blade Zero is to make players feel incredibly powerful rather than punish them for every mistake.

See, I'm fine with this much resemblance. He does look like Maxence, especially if you know what to look for, but he's still Gustave. You think of Gustave, not the actor. But when characters look exactly like their actors, especially famous ones, they're less interesting to me.
Gee, I wake up and there's already Phantom Blade Zero discourse? I feel like the devs have been pretty clear about what this game is and what it isn't. There's just no pleasing some people. I'm so glad I'm old and don't have the mental energy for this nonsense anymore.
4hrs into Phantom Blade Zero, and yep, it's fun! It's gorgeous and the combat feels great. The first boss made me work for it because I have the patience of a toddler when dodging and parrying, but I killed it without crying. A couple of crashes, but nothing that spoiled the fun.

A couple of months ago, someone on Tumblr liked 71 of my Verso photos in one go. Yes, I counted. I was giddy af. How could anyone possibly be bothered by that?
Yesterday, my For You tab showed me everything except Verso love. Today, it's vague tweets about movies, games, politics, and God knows what else 😭 What is this algorithm even trying to achieve? I don't think the For You tab and I are compatible.
Oh, I just realized I never shared mine! Tbh, Gustave and Noco ended up ranking much higher than I thought. I'd have preferred Sciel and Lune to rank higher, but oh well.
The hardest choice was Marie vs. Julie. I went with Julie because let's be honest, nobody can out-vile Marie
