Folks, the Greek ambassadorship is open. President Trump, I know you love a dark horse candidate. Especially one who has been unjustly persecuted by the Obama DOJ.
If you want someone who knows Athens like the back of his hand from hunting terrorists, I’m your guy.

"Software is dead."
If the new way to use software is through bots using UIs not from bots using APIs, then this is as big of a bull signal you can get for software.

In 2012, Best Buy was getting written off.
The stock had dropped 50%. Customers would walk in, open Amazon on their phones, and walk back out.
Analysts were giving it two years, maybe three.
The board hired a CEO who had never run a retail store in his life.

One of the coolest parts of working in software PE is getting a behind the scenes view on SUCCESSFULLY SCALED software businesses.
Eventually, you see so many software businesses that 'worked' that you can predict all the shit that the venture funded start ups will screw up. You also can see very quickly if one will 'work' (obviously not referring to the long journeyman like notion).
Some random thoughts:
-RETENTION: Your retention is EVERYTHING. Even if you bill annually, you need to watch your users like a hawk. Even if you're getting a lot of annual contracts, you need to watch daily logins. Even if you sell a lot of contracts, if people don't fucking use it, you better build something they do. Getting a sale != getting users who love your product.
-PRICING: THINK ABOUT PRICING A LOT! In the first 2 years, you should be moving pricing around. Figure out your elasticity. This is a nightmare. It is important.
-FEATURE CREEP: I have seen feature creep DESTROY so many businesses. It is the slow killer. You don't realize it is happening because 'well we are just building what users are asking for!'. You cannot please everyone. DOUBLE DOWN on features you KNOW get used. Build features RELATED to that EXACT feature you can upsell (increasing NRR). Do not boil the ocean.
-PRICING AGAIN: You can analyze your pricing relative to a few situations: conversion rate, pipeline, and retention. Make assumptions about each of these and figure out which price you need to charge relative to TAM/Growth rate to get yourself to the next raise milestone (if that's the path you wanna go).
I have seen so many founders scaling a poorly priced product with not enough use and too low of adoption. This is a failing effort. You are going the wrong direction and you're going there quickly.

The most uncomfortable/courageous speech in history was given by a 4 ft 11 in Catholic nun at The National Prayer Breakfast in 1994.
The speaker, was Saint Mother Teresa. To her right were the Clinton’s. To her left the Gore’s.
Chilling quotes from her speech 🧵

Jokes aside, this is one of the most meaningful gestures I’ve ever seen from a political leader. Donald Trump is showing Americans through his actions—not just telling them with words—that every worker is important, that every job matters, and that there’s dignity in all labor, from serving fries to selling cars to structuring balance sheets.
Trump isn’t pretending to be something he isn’t—he didn’t “grow up in a middle-class family”; he’s a guy who owns hotels, golf courses, and a Boeing 757 with gold-plated toilet handles—but he’s also not pandering or putting on an act. He’s just authentically being who he always is and who he always will be, for better or for worse: The Donald; the guy who develops the same instant rapport and bonhomie with titans of industry and fast-food workers alike; the only president of our lifetime who knows that America doesn’t win unless ALL Americans win, whether they’re fry cooks, executives, shareholders, or anything in between.
You can’t fake something like this. It’s either who you are, or it’s something you’ll never be able to pull off. Trump—somehow—has it. And, because of that, this is the guy I trust to fight for my community and for my businesses.
More importantly, though, this is the guy I trust to fight for the people making $14/hour down the street. They deserve it.
