They brought a 15-pound calf inside not knowing if he’d survive. Eventually, they had to explain to him that he wasn’t a dog and the couch wasn’t his.
Zeke was born weeks early, too weak to stand or nurse. His family kept him warm and fed him around the clock. When he finally got walking, they bought him little shoes so he wouldn’t slip on the tile.
Before long, he was playing with his best friend, a deaf dog, and curling up beside the woman who bottle-fed him to watch television.
By 50 pounds, it was time to move outside. His family understood the arrangement was temporary. Zeke apparently hadn’t been consulted.

GOP Congresswoman: "We just got 'outsmarted'
Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC), who today came out against the deal that President Biden and Speaker McCarthy negotiated to raise the debt ceiling and avoid default, is slamming Republicans for being "outsmarted by a president who can’t find his pants."
The deal is now being criticized by both far-right Republicans as well as some of the progressive caucus of Democrats.
A Reminder: This is how compromise works. Not everyone gets everything they want. But what DO we get?
We avoided *any* cuts to Social Security, Medicare or Meidcaid. We avoided cutting SNAP benefits for the homeless or our veterans. And yes, we avoided plunging America into a depression.
The job was to avoid default and unnecessary catastrophe. Joe got it done.

In the aftermath of yet another horrific mass shooting, here’s a reminder that Republicans weren’t always like this.
Here’s former Supreme Court Justice Warren Burger, who was appointed by President Nixon, on the perversion of the NRA:
“The Gun Lobby’s interpretation of the Second Amendment is one of the greatest pieces of fraud, I repeat the word fraud, on the American People by special interest groups that I have ever seen in my lifetime. The real purpose of the Second Amendment was to ensure that state armies – the militia – would be maintained for the defense of the state. The very language of the Second Amendment refutes any argument that it was intended to guarantee every citizen an unfettered right to any kind of weapon he or she desires."
This was before the NRA bought and paid for the entire GOP.

We must bind Supreme Court Justices to the same code of conduct as all other federal judges. And we must require judges and their spouses to publicly disclose their conflicts of interest. My Judicial Ethics and Anti-Corruption Act does both.

According to Raw Story, "Vance pointed to the late Julian Bond, a leader of the Civil Rights Movement and a co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center, who passed away in 2015. He was also a four-term Member of the Georgia House of Representatives, but his path in the 1960's to be able to actually represent his district was only first decided at the ballot box. Ultimately it had to be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. 'White members of the Georgia House challenged Bond’s right to be seated,' Vance writes, after Bond issued a statement against the Vietnam War. Bond fought to be seated but a Georgia House committee voted against him. He took it to the courts, and lost in a 2-1 federal district court ruling. He brought his case to the U.S. Supreme Court, and while waiting for that appeal to be heard so much time had passed he had to run for re-election. He won. Although Georgia House members again refused to seat him, Bond finally won at the Supreme Court."

BREAKING: Vice President Kamala Harris is about to make a surprise visit to Nashville to meet with Justin Pearson, Justin Jones and Gloria Johnson, the three democrats expelled from the Tennessee House.
Harris will also heavily push for gun control.
Harris’ visit continues to show that this move by the GOP will backfire massively.

Donald has a rally in Waco this Saturday. It's a ploy to remind his cult of the infamous Waco siege of 1993, where an anti-government cult battled the FBI. Scores of people died. He wants the same violent chaos to rescue him from justice.
