If your parents made sure you had dinner every night, PLEASE don’t have a baby with a man who used to starve and fend for himself as a kid.

The day I overheard my friend talking to her partner and heard him ask, “Baby, am I loving you the way you want to be loved? Is there anything you want me to do that I’m not doing well?” was the day I realised there are different levels of intentionality in a relationship.
There are men who will watch you struggle to communicate your needs, dismiss your feelings, and call you difficult for wanting more. Then there are men who will sit with you and genuinely ask how they can love you better.
Some of y`all be giving temporary problems way too much power over your life.
Everything that goes wrong don`t deserve all your energy. Sometimes things don`t go as planned, people disappoint you, and life gets inconvenient.
That`s normal. Handle what you can, feel how you feel, and move on. You got too much good going on and too much ahead of you to let every little setback throw you off. Learn to stop carrying things longer than you have to.

Heavenly’s most underrated read was when she told Lisa Nicole Cloud that “Flying on a buddy pass is for a bitch that ain’t got shit to do.” 😭

Honestly because acting like you can’t be away from your child or your man for more than two hours sounds like some type of unhealthy attachment issue. Go get that checked out

this is why boundaries are so important. bc its not actually your job to manage the emotions of emotionally immature adults. and people like this will take advantage of your lack of boundaries + willingness to be the bigger person. you become a safe space for their worst behavior
not enough people talk about the burnout that comes from constantly dealing with unhealed adults. always being the bigger person. always managing their triggers while suppressing your own. always explaining basic respect and accountability to people stuck in survival mode. that kind of exhaustion is soul tiring. protect your peace before you lose yourself carrying what other people refuse to heal within themselves.
Sometimes, you don't need to vent to your friends about everything that you're going through. Sometimes it's okay to just pray about it and move on. Let it be between you and God.
