Positioning in the US dollar is at one of the most extreme levels we’ve seen in years. The currency is also deeply overvalued and technically stretched. With rates rolling over and the Fed nearing the end of its hiking cycle, we may be approaching a major turning point. Meanwhile: Gold and silver are deeply oversold — a reversal in the dollar could unleash a powerful rally in both metals. tavicosta.substack.com/p/the…

BREAKING: Europe is under a massive cyber attack, with supermarket fridges and freezers in Belgium, Sweden, Luxembourg, Ireland, the Netherlands, Finland and Estonia all hacked today by raising temperatures to up to 50°C, destroying huge quantities of food, per Reuters. "Everything is destroyed," a sales manager in Sweden said, adding that "there has been a cyberattack and all our freezers reached 50 degrees." More than 40 supermarkets in Belgium and Luxembourg were affected. "I only have two words for them: wake up, please, because there's something going on," a store manager in Belgium said. This follows a similar cyberattack last month that hit hundreds of supermarkets in France, raising freezers as high as 80°C and causing major food losses. It also comes after freezers at 6 US military bases mysteriously malfunctioned, spoiling large quantities of food, which the Pentagon is investigating as a suspected cyberattack.

Q: Could mining stocks actually benefit if the broader stock market weakens? We believe they could. While many investors are focused on the major indexes, gold shares have been showing impressive relative strength. The HUI has held near its highs despite gold's correction.

For decades, we have maintained that gold is the best barometer of inflation and deflation. As usual, the market is leading the Fed, not the reverse. Given the fact that the two-year Treasury yield has fallen for five weeks in a row, we may be close to a major reversal in precious metals. 13D clients see the WATMTU of November 1. Last 150 years saw dotcom (2000), 1929, and railroad (1870s) bubbles, but AI bubble is bigger (3.6% vs. railroad 2.2% of GNP) and more dangerous. In each case, investors believe prices could not be too high and assume there is infinite demand. barrons.com/articles/stock-m…

Gold below $3,900, silver below $50, and gold’s worst October since 2008. Ugly tape, but look under the hood: • Managed money net long in silver: 3,321 contracts (42,756 in July ‘25) • Only 10% of miners above their 200-DMA • Miners’ debt: 8% of assets The speculators left. The metal didn’t, it moved east. 👇 soundmoneyreport.substack.co…
