Why a highway won't fix this problem - a great take from my colleague Myles at M4ST: Gorham Connector will be re-floated, along with four other plans on Tuesday m4st.substack.com/p/maine-do…

Like we always say, we can't afford to NOT do this.

Sometimes the WAR ON WALKING results in no sidewalks at all. Sometimes they put “something” in — but does that really make things walkable for anyone except those without any other choices? The #WARonWALKING takes many forms, but it’s always about making things comfortable for vehicles, not people. Via the Urban Truth Collective! Check us out. urbantruthcollective.com/ #UrbanTruth

We need E-bike REBATES. All bikes are legitimate forms of transportation but like cars, may be unaffordable for some, especially E-bikes. Let’s enable transportation options that pay dividends back to society - health, financial, and environmental impacts that cars don't provide

Most cities treat bike infrastructure as an afterthought, squeezing it into the margins of a car-dominated street. This design does the exact opposite by allocating generous spatial priority to active transit.

"Where does Teslas responsibility begin? " Lol. My dude. By design- @Tesla is responsible for NOTHING. It will crash your car and leave you with the bill every time.
FSD DROVE MY TESLA INTO A PILLAR. I’ve trusted FSD completely—until this. FSD was engaged, yet it failed to avoid a stationary pillar. @Tesla @teslasi @elonmusk How does this happen? If FSD is driving, where does Tesla’s responsibility begin? #Tesla #FSD

This is how you do it.
On the Emajõgi River, Estonia’s second city Tartu has quietly built a status as the country's cycling capital. Its approach is simple but ambitious—build a complete and connected network, treat cars as guests where space is tight, and make e-bikes readily available to everyone.🧵

Every Main St needs these.
Raised crosswalks demand motorist attention and naturally enforce speed calming, making modal conflict points safer for everyone. Proper urban infrastructure prioritizes safety through design. No sign alone can achieve that.

Bike lanes relieve congestion and boost the economy via improved health outcomes. Removing them harms the economy and makes traffic worse.
Morning commute on a bike lane that Doug Ford wants to rip out. 21 bikes and 4 cars clearing an intersection in 23 seconds. Which mode fights congestion?

Beauty, efficiency, and livability.
Closing Market Street without rethinking the layout was the most half-assed urban renewal attempt in history. Typical SF approach: frankenstein policy that accomodates every niche interest (but no one likes) instead of a bold vision that focuses on outcomes and, most importantly, people’s lives. Other cities did this, folks. It ain’t hard. 👇👇

100% occupancy! Can you say this about most car-centric places?
This should continue one block at a time until all of Broadway is pedestrianized

It's all about the infrastructure.

Just imagine if we extended this down to SoHo, one of the most popular shopping districts on Earth that is needlessly hectic due to narrow sidewalks and traffic on Broadway.
