We couldn't be more thrilled to showcase our new brand Cogs & Roses. cogsandroses.com/ Data Flow built the foundation, Cogs & Roses will carry out the vision the rest of the way. You may look at this brand and think to yourself "This doesn't look like a data company" and that's the point. We took a look at the market and realized we wanted to do something different. We want to do what we love, continue building useful and beautiful things, and also have fun while we're at it. I chose Data Flow originally as a play on my last name, and we took it a step further with Cogs & Roses. C&R is the thing that ties it all together, but in the works we also have Orchid, a hybrid ETL and AI Automation platform. Coming within the next few months we will also launch Petalworks, a new business outside of the data space while also tying into the theme we've created. We've gotten testimonials from some great clients that have partnered with us over the last year and a half and have described who we are including @sigmacomputing , @nielsen , Brinks Home, and @AdventHealth My wonderful wife Anissa Torres has poured her heart into this and drove every part of the look and feel of the company. This was her love letter to me and showed me how much she truly supports and believes in what I do. This of course doesn't happen without our amazing partner and designer Ben Frankforter. It was an incredible experience to work with him and watch him bring it all to life. Months of work, iterations, and patience. Ben never made us feel bad for changing our minds or going in a completely different direction. He worked with us every step of the way. I’ve rewatched Silicon Valley start to finish about 5 times in the past month. The commentary on the tech industry still holds. What keeps me rewatching it is the last 3 episodes of the Series. There is a very heavy switch in tone, focused on ethics in tech, which is really there through the entire series but becomes much more in your face in the last moments with the prediction of dangerous AI. The reason Pied Piper fails constantly is because Richard refuses to budge on ethics in the moments where it really matters. The few times they touch success are because he bends his beliefs and tries to justify his actions. Each time he holds himself accountable and holds ethics above all else, it dooms the company. Satire at its finest.

That looks familiar. *Checks notes from 2023* Ah.. so.. perhaps by 2029.

The live action One Piece is doing an excellent job of condensing the story without leaving out critical info. We didn’t find out about Garp or Laboon until years later but it’s so nice to have it in context.
