Essence AI — From input to action, entirely by design. Here's a look at the complete backend architecture powering Essence AI, from voice, text, and image inputs to intelligent routing and response generation. A rule-based router directs requests to the appropriate workflow, whether that's device commands, time and calendar, contacts, weather, news, or web search. Image inputs follow a dedicated processing pipeline, converting visual information into pixel data for analysis before passing it into the AI workflow. At the centre is our local LLM, connecting these workflows to response generation, with support for text output and optional voice responses. Device actions are handled through Android integrations, while public information and live lookups use their respective data sources. Our goal is to build an assistant that understands different kinds of input, chooses the right tools, and interacts with your device rather than simply generating text. Privacy remains a core design principle, with local processing wherever possible and external data sources used when a task requires them. Essence is launching next month. A more capable, more personal way to experience your device is almost here.
