Most likely historical achievement never to have happened if today's failure of cost-benefit analysis prevailed:

yes, to be contrarian. but obviously no one, even a "devout Catholic," which is what O'Connor called herself, seriously believes that the communion wafer isn't a wafer.
if you even believed that the wafer was soaked in someone's actual DNA, you would not want to take it into your mouth & let it melt on your tongue.

You have my email, you're obviously too much of a pussy, but please contact me if you want to make an enforceable wager.
Alternative headline for a supposed news organization…
We are trying to get to the bottom of why certain jurisdictions can’t count votes quickly and reliably.
If you go to bed on election night and don't know who won a midterm congressional race, that's normal. And if you wake up the next morning and find that a candidate who was behind hours earlier has since pulled ahead, that's normal, too. (via @PolitiFact) to.pbs.org/4zqnWBa
Watch this.
I remember ads to purchase the videos always being on when I was a kid.
Fascinating look at the War through the British lens.
Even if you accept this (which I question given that it is a 50/50 country and roughly a 50/50 Senate)…
Things change…CO, AZ, VA, NC, GA, TX.
And before that CA.
Next up, TN.
Make your arguments, run good candidates, and you can win without system rigging.

The status quo senate is severely skewed toward Republicans, I don't see why on the merits it would be bad to make it slightly less skewed.

BREAKING: Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola denies she knew anything about an effort to put another candidate on the Alaska ballot with the same name as incumbent Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan. The race is considered key to control of the U.S. Senate apnews.com/article/alaska-pe…
Keep in mind that when she went back to the office all of her comms people told her she NAILED IT because she stayed on message / spun.
This is all downstream of Stephanopolus’ (92) and Russert’s schtick — the mother’s milk case studies for all junior comms / press.
Wow, Democrat Campaign Chair Suzan DelBene (D-WA) TORCHED by CNBC hosts over Democrat Mary Peltola election rigging scandal in Alaska 🎥
Andrew Ross Sorkin: “You don't believe the report at all?”
“You don't believe, You genuinely don't believe it happened. Do you want to know if it happened? ... As a human, as a citizen, if you're watching this play out and you say to yourself, this is crazy?”
For 4+ minutes, DelBene insists she believes Peltola & her campaign had NOTHING to do with placing a fake Dan Sullivan on the ballot after bombshell NYTimes investigation, complete with text message evidence, sparking multiple federal & criminal investigations
DelBene goes on a whataboutism tangent: “Well, the campaign has been clear that they deny what happened … Republicans from the very beginning have been set up trying to rig the system”
➡️Joe Kernen: “Chairwoman, it's good you got that, you know, not a lot of DelBenes around so you probably have, Democrats won't be able to find anyone to run against”
He’s on the lam!
EXCLUSIVE: Daniel J. Sullivan left his Alaska hometown days before reports about his ties to Peltola's campaign, sources say. cbsn.ws/4itY4x4
Big stolen base with #6
Re: Alaska same-name ploy
1) It's icky
2) The strategy makes no sense given that the state uses ranked choice voting
3) The idea that Dem operatives didn't know what was going on, or didn't have a hand in it, was always silly
4) Lots of politicians and parties try to stack candidates, including this cycle in Arizona with Republican Party operatives seemingly recruiting a Green Party candidate to try to siphon off Dem votes
5) The Alaska Supreme Court already ruled that the other Dan Sullivan candidate can be on the ballot, there's nothing unlawful about it, even with less-than-admirable motives of that Dan Sullivan
6) Criminality only comes into play if, e.g., somebody bribed the other Dan Sullivan, or if somebody lied to the government about the issue, or lied on a sworn form about the issue. This seemingly hasn't happened
7) There's also the campaign finance question -- did groups affiliated with the Dems and/or Peltola properly disclose any contributions they made to the other Dan Sullivan's campaign? So far no error has been shown
8) Still unusual for the DOJ to announce a criminal investigation into a politician days before an election. This would have previously had to go through the public integrity section for a thorough review. DOJ used to be very reluctant to get involved on the eve of an election.
9) This will ultimately be decided by the voters of Alaska, and I think there's little reason to believe confusion will play a role.

On the eve of the eve of the eve of our BIG and important election, a unifying moment has arrived, our democratic nominee for U.S Senate disavows the Rebellion PAC ad made by Hasan Piker’s uncle that claims Jews are responsible for America’s economic woes. We have learned from party leaders and emissaries, as reported in the news media that he has.
On Sunday I will join with the Great Democratic leader, Jim Clyburn and Dr El Sayed for a church service in the beautiful city of Detroit.
The political coalition of Black and Jewish voices that have carried Michigan and this country through so many storms to the righteous path of liberal democracy and equal opportunity for all will ring out. Full statement here:
Did the ideas include going to Alaska?
Fox is wrong. That is not what happened in the meeting at all. No one who spoke at the network meeting opposed covering the campaign or story but rather exchanged ideas on how to do it. All of the AK candidates also know they have an open invitation (repeatedly offered) to join Face the Nation. So does the NH GOP candidate who has also been repeatedly invited. I look forward to seeing my colleagues cover it too.
I actually caught this on Fox: foxnews.com/video/6407549345…
