This guy seems a really good time.
An Arizona orthopedic surgeon allegedly tried to board a five-night Bahamas cruise with MDMA, THC gummies, vape oil, lollipops, and psychedelic chocolates in his luggage. And some of the ecstasy pills were stamped with the Tesla logo. 😂 Dr. Jacob Henrichsen, 38, was arrested at PortMiami after customs officers discovered the assortment during a baggage inspection. Investigators reportedly found nearly 12 grams of MDMA, approximately 160 grams of mushroom-branded chocolate that preliminarily field-tested positive for LSD-related properties, and more than 300 grams of THC products. Henrichsen faces three felony charges, including MDMA trafficking. He’s pleaded not guilty, and his attorney is disputing how the drug quantities were calculated. Now, I have questions. Was this all for personal use? Was he planning to share? And why would someone with a medical career risk everything over a five-night cruise? Because I would LOVE to know what this man’s vacation itinerary looked like. 📸 Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department

I’m totally convinced that he’s going to say something that is 100% true and is 100% a crime he’s committed at one of these. He’s getting worse. Day before the election we’re going to hear a story about him and his “good friend Jeff”.

On behalf of the NATO Military Committee, we extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the tragedy at CFB Wainwright, and our wishes for a full recovery to all the injured. Wainwright is where Canadian soldiers, and so many Allies with them, train for the hardest tasks of our profession. Those who fell there served our common security, and the Military Committee will honour their memory. We are grateful to the first responders, medical staff and the people of Wainwright for their courage and solidarity. @CDS_Canada_CEMD, Canada does not carry this grief alone. All 32 Allied Chiefs of Defence stand with you and the Canadian Armed Forces.

Global model ensembles are in strong agreement that a prolonged &anomalous nearly West-wide autumn heatwave will develop this week & persist for 10+ days. While some daytime records may be set, this event will be more notable for its persistence & breadth. [Thread]

Yesterday, terrorist Russia once again attacked residential buildings, resulting in three deaths and many injuries. We must start providing substantial aid to the attacked Ukraine and bar Russia and its citizens from our territory unless they condemn Russia's imperialist war!

This, combined with news out of France, makes it sound like something wicked this way comes. Diplomatic sources suggest Putin will commit an act of provocation that cannot be ignored - except in the White House.

Mark Carney, "In the heart of Germany, above Weimar, there is a wooded ridge called Ettusberg. And for decades, Goethe walked, thought, and wrote there. An oak on that ridge came to bear his name, a living monument to the highest ideals of European culture" "As the 20th century turned dark, that same oak became trapped behind the barbed wire of Buchenwald. A silent witness to humanity's deepest moral failure. Goethe understood that ideals must be fought for, that values do not defend themselves." "Indeed, at the end of Faust, the old man's last vision is of a free people on free ground. Nödvg, Värdjän, Siegfreiheit. Wie das Leben, de taklik si eroban mus" "Freedom and life must be earned every single day" "Every day" "Every day, not once in 1945 or 1956 or 1989. Every day, including this one." My take: 1945, 1956 and 1989 are not distant history lessons: they mark Europe’s liberation from fascism, Hungary’s uprising against Soviet rule, and the fall of the Iron Curtain. Carney’s point is that freedom is never something Europe simply achieved and banked forever - it is a choice, a responsibility and, when necessary, a struggle renewed by every generation.
