Built for the hills. Dax Durdin’s 1904cc “CO mountain slayer” packs a C35 cam, Camdex gear set, 1.1:1 rockers, 12 lb. forged flywheel and more from SCAT VW. Plenty to get you up the hills in a hurry.
A closer look inside this VW stroker build from Russell Nord. SCAT VW 1.25:1 rocker arms paired with HBS lightweight conical springs and ready to go to work. Thanks to Russell for sharing the build!
This ’50 Split is shaping up to be one serious build. Cecchini Trucking Co. shared the latest progress, with plenty more still to come. We’re proud to see SCAT VW included among the names helping bring this project together. Can’t wait to see this one finished.
Performance comes first, but there’s nothing wrong with adding a little shine. Jayme Barbarisi chose SCAT VW stainless steel valve covers with original-style VW spring clips for the Dellabarba Racing engine build, bringing a clean, polished finish to the project.
Pete’s 1641cc is coming together nicely. Builder Richard Sedoris paired the original German cooling tin with a SCAT VW 36hp Dog House Fan Shroud (SKU 25888). His verdict on the fit? “Perfect right out of the box.”
A year ago, Robert King Jr. was fine-tuning these 48 IDAs with 170 mains, 200 airs and F11 emulsion tubes, getting the combination dialed in for smooth, strong performance without the stumble.

Two builds worth another look. A 2276cc EFI IDA motor and a 2442cc turbo EFI motor, both built by Stefan Rossi at ACE Racing Engines.
Serious air-cooled VW power from a shop that knows how to build it. Always great to see SCAT VW in the mix.

Thanks to Leo Wilkinson for including us. We’re always happy to see what’s being built across the VW community around the world.

It’s alive! 🔥 After all the measuring, fitting, adjusting and assembling, Todd Getty fired up this 2500cc for the first time. Among the work leading up to first fire was dialing in the geometry for a set of SCAT VW 1.4 ratio rockers.

Flat Four Performance shares an in-car look at the “Street Beast V2” — one of the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated, pump-gas VW flat fours, making 356 bhp. Proud to see SCAT Volkswagen components supporting a build capable of this kind of power.
This slammed Käfer stopped us in our tracks. Clean, classic and sitting just right. We never get tired of seeing how the air-cooled VW community puts its own spin on an icon.

Serious displacement. Serious intent. This 2275cc engine is coming together as the powerplant for Steve G’s 1969 VW Beetle. Built with power in mind and designed to be driven, this one’s set up to deliver where it counts.

A proper loop through Venezuela’s coast—buggies out, miles covered, and nothing but open road ahead. Built to run hard, built to be used.

One of the cleanest builds to date, and proof that a true driver can still look this good. The attention to detail on this VW is next-level, inside and out. Proud to be a part of builds as clean as this.

David H. sent us these shots after installing his new seats and brackets in his yellow Beetle, and we’d say the finished product looks pretty sharp!
Best of all? In David’s words: “The brackets worked perfectly and the seats are in!”
