We are living in a time where kids have nowhere to hang out, younger generations are being forced to take care of the older generations, media is being either heavily censored or altered, and our identities are being exposed at all times...
When the fuck will this shit end
We just can't catch a break, can we?
The EU Kids Act is nightmare fuel, if you look beneath the honorable surface claim of "protecting kids online". The breakdown: youtube.com/watch?v=mQRcK9nY…

Rand Paul just blocked the Senate from passing KOSA by unanimous consent. It was the fourth attempt in four years.
The Senate bill never says "age verification." It says platforms must prevent harms to minors and can be held liable if a reasonable person would have known a user was a minor. The only safe way to avoid that liability is to check everyone.
The House version skips the guessing. It requires age verification for every user, and it passed 267 to 117.
The Senate bill also orders a study on verifying age at the device or operating system level. Meta dropped its opposition once the bill was paired with a federal ban on state AI laws and a digital ID push.
Both versions lead to the same place, which is an ID check for the whole internet.

Age verification (digital ID) laws are spreading fast and most people have no idea what's already on the books near them.
We mapped every bill, state by state.
See what's passed, what's pending, and who wants to introduce ID checks for internet access.
We also have a global map so you can see the threats all around the world and map the co-ordinated effort to end privacy online...

Someone was kidnapped by ICE in my neighborhood today, they got him by sending text messages to him saying he had a package at UPS to renew his USCIS paperwork. When he got there, UPS told him they don't send text messages and then ICE kidnapped him in the UPS parking lot.

🚨NEWS: It has been revealed that the Labour Government are keeping a 'Blacklist' of people on social media who criticise their policies with those on the list being investigated and monitored
We live in truly dark times in the UK

Lisa Nandy has said that the social media ban for under-16s is just the starting point.
She praised Keir Starmer and Liz Kendall for beginning the process of increasing online censorship, and welcomed Andy Burnham’s decision to accelerate it.
At Labour Party conference, Nandy said the ban was “a staging post to what must be a very interventionist state, policing and regulating the online space so that people are safe”.
We should recognise that this is no longer just about protecting children online. It is about giving the state greater control over what we can and cannot say online.
We are living in Orwell’s 1984.

The Government has shown its hand.
Culture, Media and Sport Secretary Lisa Nandy has warned that the Government’s online safety crackdown is far from over, describing the social media ban for under-16s as only a “staging post”.
She has vowed to go further, saying: “We shouldn’t accept that this is the end.”
And it gets worse. Ahead of her conference speech, Nandy said the social media ban is “a staging post to what must be a very interventionist state, policing and regulating the online space so that people are safe”.
Nandy has just said the quiet part out loud. The state is already far too interventionist, flagging people who criticise the Government and its policies online. In the last five years, 62,199 people have been arrested for things they have said, both online and offline.
Let’s be honest: this is no longer solely about protecting children online. It is about the state gaining greater control over what people say online.
Nandy praised former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and former Digital Secretary Liz Kendall for introducing the social media ban earlier this summer. She also acknowledged a “step change” in the Government’s approach since Andy Burnham took over in July.
Nandy has confirmed what we already knew: Andy Burnham’s Government will go further with online censorship.

Between Sony's plans, the general push for digital-only, and the draconian EU Kids Act not only our favorite hobby is in danger, but the freedom of the internet as a whole. Speak up or somebody else decides for you! Push back or get trampled over! Fight now or it's over!
Replying to @PlayStation
We will continue to share our perspective. But it isn't unique. Every person with common sense should oppose your plans to kill discs and should oppose a digital-only future that removes every hope for ownership and customer protection.

If this proposal passes as written, it is the end of SuperTuxKart in the EU — and possibly the end of the project.
We need to be serious for a moment.
We cannot "block the EU market." We cannot prevent private servers. The code is GPL. Anyone can run one.
That is not a loophole — it is the entire point of open source.
We could not detect EU players on VPNs without tracking our players. We will not track our players. Not for Brussels, not for anyone.
A law written for tech giants is about to outlaw free and open source software made with love.
All hands on deck! This is the biggest threat to Stop Killing Games yet!
The EU #KidsAct could end #StopKillingGames by collapsing the EU gaming market and making private and community servers illegal!:

🚨🚨 Social media posts criticising Government policy are being monitored and logged by officials.
Metro has obtained a list of 77 critical posts recorded by the Standards and Compliance Unit (StaCU), which oversees the Government’s Prevent programme.
Established in 2024, StaCU is an “opaque” body set up to handle complaints about Prevent made on X and Reddit. But it appears officials are also scouring the internet for criticism of the programme.
The posts include comments from ordinary people, many of whom would never expect Government officials to be monitoring their social media. A significant number were flagged for describing Prevent as “biased”. One X user made the list after calling its training “complete bullshit”.
How can Britain claim to be a liberal democracy when officials monitor and log posts criticising Government policies and programmes?
More than 62,000 people have been arrested for speech-related offences in the past five years, including over social media posts. Every day, Britain feels more like George Orwell’s 1984.
And this may be just the beginning. Andy Burnham’s National Centre for Information Defence has been billed as a tool to counter information warfare from Russia. But he has also said it should address “counter-narratives” about Britain. That raises serious concerns about whether it could be used to target criticism of Government policy and its handling of issues such as mass, uncontrolled migration.
As with so many secretive monitoring bodies, transparency is lacking. This revelation raises further questions about free speech, the right to protest and the right to criticise the Government.
This is deeply chilling.
