He'll be doing so against some of the NHL's best, like Barkov, the Tkachuks, and more.

As expected, Rod Brind'Amour says the plan is to take a youthful roster to Florida tomorrow for the exhibition opener.
"A lot of the young guys are going to play these first few [preseason] games, just to kind of see what we have. Then we'll kind of ramp it up near the end."

One of the biggest questions entering #Canes camp was who would fill a position often held by Seth Jarvis.
For at least the first two days, Eric Robinson is the answer.
His mindset on the opportunity?
"Don't change anything."
"I know what can make me a factor in games and what my game is. No matter who my linemates are, or whatever spot you want to say it is in the lineup, I've got to do the same thing and bring the same things."

As has been the case during every #Canes training camp under Rod Brind'Amour, today's sessions ended with some hard skating.
"That'll make you forget about the Stanley Cup," Jordan Martinook directed toward the media as he left the ice.
Brind'Amour said that's how it should be.
"We're on a new journey, right? It started with day one, today. That's exactly what we kind of need to hear."

Seth Jarvis says the last time he checked, he was "a little ahead of schedule" as he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery.
"I'll just keep rehabbing as hard as I can. It's been a long grind, but I can kind of start to see the light at the end of the tunnel."
