Question for the WH: What national security or military objective is fulfilled by restarting the war just before or after the midterms?
NEW - EXCLU - Trump has considered reigniting the war against Iran after the midterms
But now the White House told the Pentagon to draw up plans for a strike *before* Election Day
Trump allies hope it could provide GOP with a boost. No final call yet theatlantic.com/national-sec…

This level of naked, open corruption is unprecedented in our history.
NEW: An ABC News analysis found that defense companies backed by Donald Trump’s sons have now raked in more than $6 billion in active or promised government contracts since those investments were made.

I did not.
I informed DoD of my trip verbally and in writing.
Days before I left, I spoke to CENTCOM Commander Cooper in person and asked for a briefing while I was in theater. He believed my request was reasonable.
But it was not approved. Because the point is the cover up.

Did you show up out of nowhere unannounced? You're a fool if you think everyone needs to drop everything to cater to you
Trump on Henry Cuellar Pardon: I didn't say, “Oh, I'll give you the pardons if you turn Republican.” I could have. A crooked politician would have done that.
*complains Cuellar didn’t switch parties for the pardon*
Cuellar announced only a few days later that he was going remain in the Democrat Party. So many consider this to be a tremendous act of disloyalty and certainly showed him to be an extremely ungrateful kind of a person.
easily my favorite part: she made her donor friend write her draft letters saying he "owed her two $50,000 back payments for consulting services." She's shaking him down for money, promising things she's not delivering, and she didn't even bother to write the letter herself.
This is the most comically corrupt thing i've read in a long time (and that's saying something for this era). How Guilfoyle could be allowed to remain in her post is impossible to imagine. Rubio is in Greece right now!

Given the president’s prolific social media usage, his time spent on the golf course, and his focus on vanity projects like building a ballroom and mucking up the Reflection Pool, one could forgive the Eleventh Circuit panel if they don’t take the claim he doesn’t have time for whatever sort of consultation with his lawyer he needs seriously. .@POTUS: "In the ultimate proof to our commitment to ensuring the shipyard's enduring success, American taxpayers will receive a 40% stake in the new shipyard."
If you care about Team GOP, which Angela Paxton does not, vote Democratic. It will take more than one landslide to rid the party of postliberal degenerates, but a good thrashing might enlighten the right-wing mind to the value of nominating candidates who aren’t sociopaths.

Why don't you mention the name of the person waging a nonsensical and damaging economic war with Canada?

I'm not sure I've read a story over the past decade that better captures the grifter culture of TrumpWorld better than this one. Detail after amazing detail. Jaw-dropping, and yet none of it is really surprising.

Who could’ve have foreseen Kim Guilfoyle would go on a grifting and crime spree after Trump named her as Ambassador to Greece to get her out of the country after Junior hooked up with a younger woman?
The “team” the president and both Paxtons are playing for isn’t actually the Republican Party.
Partisanship is simply what they’re selling to immiserated right-wing suckers to try to get them to turn out.
The team they’re playing for is postliberalism.

@tedcruz Rafael thinks families have extra money lying around to put into a [convicted felon] Account for their kid’s birthday? That’s hilarious.
This is the same administration that responded to higher prices from its tariffs by telling Americans their kids could have fewer dolls and fewer pencils. Instead of asking why families can’t afford what they used to, the answer was basically, buy less.
Now Cruz thinks Aunt Susie should forget the birthday present and throw $50 or $100 into an investment account.
Meanwhile, inflation is running higher than wage growth, gasoline prices have soared, and families are paying more just to cover the basics. Maybe instead of, “Mom, can everyone put money in my [convicted felon] Account for my birthday?” it’s, “Mom, can you afford my insulin this month? Can we have three meals today? Do you have enough money for gas to get to work this week?”
These people are completely disconnected from what it actually costs ordinary families to live.
The GOP is very much a party that would hold a grudge against Angela Paxton for not prioritizing its lust for power over her pain in having to defend a man who cheated on her, personally. But that’s the sort of team she chose to join and that’s the team on which she belongs.

@KenPaxtonTX I agree with all of that, Ken. The war, gas prices, diesel prices, and food prices are absolutely dragging you down.
But let’s not pretend those are your only problems.
There’s also you.
Your record includes felony securities-fraud indictments, a deal that required you to pay restitution, perform community service, and take legal-ethics classes, impeachment by the Texas House, years of corruption allegations, and a $6.6 million judgment involving whistleblowers who said they were fired after reporting you to the FBI.
So yes, the war and the economy are hurting your campaign. But maybe voters also looked at your own record and decided they’ve had enough of you. And being a POS adulterer probably isn't helping either.
