Massive thanks to #BioSystematics2023 and @Pensoft for the Best Student Speed Talk award! It was an enlightening three days of interesting talks and insights into what #taxonomy research is being undertaken around Australia and New Zealand. Can't wait for the next conference.
☺️ Honoured to join this year's joint #conference of the Australian #Biological Resources Study @DCCEEW, @ASBS_botany, @SASBiologists & @ausmycsoc to recognise the #scientific work of these three bright young #scientists!🙌 #Biosystematics2023 @biosyst2023 @ANU_Research @PutterT

Our reassessment of the global status of sharks, rays and chimerans is out and the news is bad - twice as many species are threatened compared to a decade ago. The paper is #openaccess and breaks down the details. @jcu @CSTFA_JCU @CurrentBiology cell.com/current-biology/ful…

NZ #sharkscience game is strong at #NZMSS2021. Topics included everything from habitat use, movement patterns, and shark hearing. Hey @SharkWeek here is a table full of actual researchers doing #shark work. – at Tauranga City, New Zealand

It's not ignorance wiping out #sharks, it's plain and simple greed. The suggestion that we just misunderstand sharks and that's why we fish them is hocus pushed forward by the usual crew who inappropriately touch wildlife. I saved you all an hour of your life, you're welcome – at Central Coast, New South Wales
