You can now use LOIS and Filevine directly as connectors in @perplexity_ai
Enrich case incident details with weather data: humidity, wind gusts, and visibility for a specific timestamp and point on the map
Monitor parties to the case on social media and auto-post red flags and alerts to case activity
Compile an opposing expert's published articles and state licensing board disciplinary history straight into the deposition prep folder
Anyone, anything, anywhere – this is the expansive vision for LOIS. Adopt LOIS for a single filing or a whole caseload. Bring your tech stack into LOIS or take LOIS with you where you work.

Unpopular opinion: the people getting the most out of AI are the ones who could do the work without it.
What happens to the “the only moat is taste” crowd when autonomous agents become the majority end users of software? Will the autonomous agents respect the self-appointed arbiters of taste?
Pre-AI era pitfall: Have a solution looking for a problem.
AI era pitfall: If a solution can’t find a problem, add more to the solution.
When code is cheap and customer signal is low, the temptation is to build a bigger satellite.

In the world of the law, how many tasks can you list where immediate response of an AI model is critical? I handled civil and criminal cases for years, I never once remember something like, "wow, I just received a motion from the opposition [for some reason] I have to respond in 20 minutes."
My point is that Legal AI models promising faster answers don't make sense to me. The marketing should be something highlighting less review time on their output, not faster output.
AI that simply cites a case is table stakes.
LOIS shows you where the case says it. Click a citation and the opinion opens to the exact page, with the passages LOIS relied on highlighted.

Business of law folks know: hourly billing is a proxy for value pricing. AI won’t make the legal bill go down.
During prebills, associate-level effort has been value-adjusted down for clients for decades. No savings there. Meanwhile, AI increases time capture for highest value activities done by partners—both mechanical capture improves and focused attention increases.
Legal AI conjoins tech that trades in language with a profession that trades in language.
The language must be correct for every permutation of practice area-jurisdiction-client profile. AI has only a beachhead in this industry.
Best kept secret in legal AI race? 80% of the mindshare is taken up by transactional/advisory/compliance use cases. It's no coincidence those are the ones most investors understand. Atticus Finch is largely forgotten by the Legal AI hivemind.
