Incredibly sad news this evening. For me, his Macbeth was magnificent. His Picard was a triumph. Rest in peace, Sir Patrick.

I have ADHD. I’d rather the 1/3 off rail travel I can claim goes on improving the service so I’m not overthinking the bloody new route I have to take when the train is cancelled.

And yet local programming from the BBC and commercial outlets have been decimated. Forget anything but national messaging… if you’re lucky.
Sales of radios have increased by as much as 160% radiotoday.co.uk/2026/10/eme…

Whenever I had a Friday off, dad would visit. Pub, then fish and chips. Went for fish and chips in his memory today. He’s probably shouting at me for not having the pint. Miss you dad.

Only 66%?
66% of cat owners would rather spend time with their cat than their friends.

The coastguard helicopter landed just now a little up the road from us. Never a good sign.

This is going to get interesting when our local media start reporting on it.
Reform mayor under police investigation for alleged cyberflashing Luke Campbell, an Olympic gold medallist boxer and rising star in Nigel Farage’s party, is accused of showing naked pictures of himself to female colleague ✍️ Catherine Neilan bit.ly/4zvosgW

Brilliant episode of Ade and Sam go birding around Flamborough, Brid and Bempton. I adore being from and living here. @exitthelemming getting excited about tree sparrows was fab. We’re currently watching the big migrations over the headland.

Flu jab today. Had to go private as work scheme has been delayed. Flu cases are growing very quickly already. Go early.

My company flu vaccine has been delayed until later this year. I know early flu cases are rising so I’ve opted for a private jab just so I can get it much sooner.

A new mural in my home town commemorating the Battle of Flamborough Head. I hope @86SirRoge approves!

I love this analogy. I’m a left-hander and still holding out at the wicket at 53 today. Happy birthday us.
October 8th. It’s my birthday. I am officially another year older. 53 not out - a perfectly respectable individual batting score at cricket. Nothing flashy, a couple of streaky boundaries and at least one very close LBW that the umpire somehow missed. Run rate has slowed, the middle order is creaking and I’m still refusing to declare. Counting my blessings that I’m not yet back in the pavilion.

I love it that it’s his dog that gets the standing ovation!
Kevin Hollinrake pulls out a pint then introduces his β€œfantasy far-right black Labrador”, in absolutely brilliant scenes from Conservative Conference. Legendary stuff. πŸ€£πŸΊπŸ•

This is so me. Although it’s made a little better by my daughter loving the same band as me @museband

I met Jeffry Archer a few times at charity events. Always a gentleman.
I can’t believe that Jeffrey Archer - who was always so alive - is suddenly dead. We had a wonderful day together yesterday - as anyone who was there will tell you, he was in brilliant form on stage yesterday celebrating the publication of his 50th and final best-selling novel.
