does anyone need a plus one for the last day on earth?
crypto might be the only industry where people returning to its most degenerate behavior is considered a sign of recovery.
I agree with the larger point about shipping more and making less of a production out of every launch.
You can write the announcement 20 mins before launch when:
-you have an engaged audience
-the brand and product are known
-distribution is built
-demand is strong
Marketing gets to look easy when the fundamentals are already in place.

Everyone overthinks marketing.
For every product launch we did at X, I wrote the announcement 20min before clicking post.
Better to be launching something every week instead of focusing on how to make a single-day traffic spike slightly larger.
nothing pisses me off more than thinking my hair appointment is finally over and then I see the fucking ring light come out.
you just charged me $500+ to not even give me what I asked for and now you want me to perform for your instagram???
a good shitpost requires niche knowledge, cultural awareness, timing and taste.
put some respect on the craft.
seeing a lot of “LinkedIn is actually good” propaganda lately.
which tells me the people posting are actually not good.
Instagram changed its identity in 2016 and people HATED IT.
Now everyone hates Instagram for changing the identity they hated in 2016.
I think we feel way more ownership over brands than we realize.
If you’ve used Instagram for 10+ years, that identity has been sitting on your phone through friendships, relationships, businesses, entire eras of your life. You’ve attached meaning to it that Instagram doesn’t own, that part is yours.
So when they change it, you’re not really looking at two logos and deciding which one is prettier.
Look at how people talk when this happens:
“Don’t touch it.”
"We want to vote”
“Change it back.”
But I also kind of get it because the more space a brand takes up in our lives, the more we start to feel like some part of it is ours.
That's why “give us the old one back” is sometimes less of a design critique and more of:
“I don’t like that you changed my thing.”
Why is every new tech company orange all of a sudden?
Started noticing it, went looking and there’s actually a pretty interesting cluster across AI, crypto, fintech and devtools.
My theory is that as technology becomes more technical, abstract and inhuman, the brands selling it are trying very hard to feel warm, expressive and alive.
Brands are producing more and more content designed specifically to get my attention and somehow I feel less interested in most of them.
Meanwhile I’ll follow a random person because I’m invested in an ongoing joke about their neighbor.
I want more brands to create that feeling.
Give me lore, inside jokes, recurring characters, things I only understand because I’ve been following you for a while, bring me into your world.
Less “content,” more continuity.
In the last 24 hours, I’ve seen multiple Corgi employees explicitly explain the product, what kind of insurance they sell and why startups need it.
THAT is closing the loop.
They already had the attention, now they’re attaching the business to it.
