Dom James always pops on the eye test, every time he’s out there he brings speed and creativity. Not sure what the underlying numbers say, and I know his waiver-eligibility is a big reason he’s being sent down. But logistics aside, he’s a better lineup fit than a few others IMO

I’m not gonna apologize for holding the team I love to the standard that THEY set years ago If you want to blindly nod along to every single thing they do, that’s your problem. Some of us care too much to not call out a lack of standards.

I know it’s still early and I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but I have not had a single moment so far this season where I’ve thought “wow that Jeff Viel contract was so worth it”

It is halfway through the game. The Lightning have 3 goals. The Red Wings have 3 shots. Sources tell me this is pretty good

Prime Vinik days, this team was the gold standard for fan engagement. Thought the back-to-back Cups would launch a new era of fan support. Instead, they got complacent. “Good news, food prices aren’t going up this year!” was a team point of celebration one year lmao

Since the trade request news, Nikita Kucherov has 5 points in 4 periods. Just pay the man @TBLightning

The sellout streak has been unofficially dead for a long time now, but maybe today is the day we can finally acknowledge that

Feel like I’ve heard this one before

Been a rough 24 hours for Lightning fans

Stamkos scoring the game tying goal AND the game winning shootout goal against the Lightning the day after the Kucherov news leaked

The worst thing about the Kucherov news is that if the Lightning had just gotten a deal agreed upon for July 1st, they would’ve had a deal signed before the market exploded. I bet whatever the ask was then would’ve been a steal in the current market a few months later. Oh well!

Kucherov with 3 points in 2 periods since the trade request news, brother does not care about anything but puck

.@TBLightning

“Why isn’t Kucherov offering to take a hometown discount?” BECAUSE YOU HARDBALLED THE GUY THAT ESTABLISHED THAT STANDARD THE SECOND HIS DEAL WAS UP AND FORCED HIM TO LEAVE TOWN

I need someone to find out if it was JBB playing hardball with Kuch, or if the new private equity owners (that seem more interested in raising concession and ticket prices) told him they won’t spend to the cap ceiling like Vinik did

Maybe now people understand why Stamkos left despite trying as hard as he did to stay. Kuch saw that hardball play out and said “don’t play with me” and they still did, I’m gonna be SICK

Steven Stamkos watching the Lightning bungle another hometown superstar

FIRE JBB WE’RE NOT DOING THIS AGAIN
