A tiny white spot in an extremely delicate area! 👁️✨ Milium is a small keratin-filled cyst that can appear around the eyes. During this extraction, every movement had to be performed with great care and precision. ⚠️ Do not try to puncture or squeeze it at home, especially on the eyelid. Seek a qualified professional for proper evaluation. Watch until the end and share it with someone who also has these little spots! 👀 #Milium #MiliumExtraction #Skincare

Possible Signs of Oral Cancer ✅ Oral cancer can affect the tongue, lips, cheeks, gums, floor of the mouth, palate, or throat. Many of these signs can have harmless causes, but persistent or unexplained changes should not be ignored. 🔹 1. Non-Healing Mouth Ulcer ➟ Most ordinary mouth ulcers heal within 1–2 weeks. ➟ An ulcer that lasts longer than 2–3 weeks should be checked. ➟ It may be painless at first, so lack of pain does not always mean it is harmless. 🔹 2. Persistent White Patch ➟ A white patch that does not rub or scrape away may need evaluation. ➟ Some white patches are harmless, but others can contain abnormal cells. ➟ Persistent patches should be examined by a dentist or doctor. 🔹 3. Red or Red-White Patch ➟ Persistent red or mixed red-and-white areas can be important warning signs. ➟ These changes may occur on the tongue, gums, cheeks, or other mouth tissues. ➟ Red patches in particular deserve prompt assessment. 🔹 4. Mouth or Neck Lump ➟ A persistent lump, thickened area, or swelling in the mouth or neck should be evaluated. ➟ Enlarged lymph nodes in the neck can occur for many reasons, including infection. ➟ A lump that does not settle within a few weeks needs professional assessment. 🔹 5. Unexplained Oral Bleeding ➟ A mouth lesion may sometimes bleed without an obvious injury. ➟ Repeated or unexplained bleeding should not be ignored. ➟ Gum disease is a common cause of bleeding, but persistent unexplained bleeding needs evaluation. 🔹 6. Persistent Mouth Pain ➟ Ongoing pain, soreness, or burning may occasionally be a warning sign. ➟ Pain may affect the tongue, jaw, throat, or other areas of the mouth. ➟ Persistent pain without a clear cause should be investigated. 🔹 7. Difficulty Chewing or Swallowing ➟ Some people may feel that chewing or swallowing has become uncomfortable or difficult. ➟ There may also be a feeling that something is stuck in the throat. ➟ Persistent swallowing difficulty should be medically assessed. 🔹 8. Numbness of the Lip or Tongue ➟ Persistent numbness, tingling, or reduced sensation can sometimes occur if nearby nerves are affected. ➟ It may involve the lip, tongue, chin, or another part of the mouth. ➟ New unexplained numbness should be checked promptly. 🔹 9. Unexplained Loose Tooth ➟ A permanent tooth may become loose because of gum disease, injury, or other dental problems. ➟ A tooth becoming loose without an obvious reason needs assessment. ➟ Changes in the way the teeth or dentures fit may also be important. 🔹 When to See a Dentist or Doctor ➟ Any mouth ulcer, lump, or patch lasts more than 2–3 weeks ➟ A lesion is getting larger, harder, or starts bleeding ➟ You develop persistent numbness or unexplained tooth mobility ➟ Chewing or swallowing becomes difficult ➟ You notice a persistent neck lump ➟ Symptoms are worsening or recurring ⚠️ Medical Disclaimer: This information is for general education only and does not replace professional medical or dental advice. These symptoms do not automatically mean cancer, but persistent or unexplained changes in the mouth should be examined by a dentist, oral medicine specialist, or doctor.

🎯This clinical presentation is characteristic of severe pediatric protein-energy malnutrition (PEM), specifically KWASHIORKOR (or marasmic kwashiorkor, given the concomitant muscle wasting in the limbs).💯✅

Extensive tissue necrosis, sloughing, and deep ulceration on the buttock/thigh, characteristic of injection site necrosis (sterile abscess / Quinine-induced muscle necrosis) following intramuscular injection of undiluted or inappropriately administered Quinine (a known irritant and necrotizing agent). 🚨Immediate Management Plan Surgical Evaluation & Resuscitation: Urgent Surgical Consult: Immediate evaluation by pediatric surgery or burn/reconstructive surgery for surgical debridement of non-viable/necrotic tissue. Analgesia & Pain Control: Adequate pediatric intravenous analgesia (multimodal pain management). Fluid Resuscitation: Assess hydration status and correct fluid deficits caused by large open wound exudate. Wound Care & Infection Control: Systemic Antibiotic Coverage: Broad-spectrum IV antibiotics covering secondary bacterial superinfections (including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, and anaerobes). Wound Debridement & Dressing: Regular sterile dressing changes (e.g., non-adherent silver-impregnated or moist dressings) after debridement to promote granulation tissue formation. Alternative Antimalarial Therapy: Discontinue IM Quinine: Immediately switch to safer parenteral antimalarial regimens (preferably IV/IM Artesunate, which is safer and less irritant, or IV Quinine infusion under strict cardiac and glucose monitoring if Artesunate is unavailable). Tetanus Immunization & Supportive Care: Tetanus Toxoid / Booster: Administer tetanus prophylaxis if immunization status is incomplete or unknown. Nutritional Support: High-protein, high-calorie pediatric nutritional rehabilitation to facilitate severe wound healing.
What needs to be done on this case?? #Medx

🧬 NEUROFIBROMATOSIS TYPE 1 (NF1) | BEYOND WHAT WE SEE Known as Von Recklinghausen disease, NF1 is a genetic condition that can cause multiple tumors to develop along nerves, often appearing as soft bumps beneath or on the skin. 🔬 WHY DOES IT HAPPEN? • Caused by changes in the NF1 gene on chromosome 17. • Inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern, although around half of cases result from a new genetic variant. • It is NOT contagious. 🩺 KEY CLINICAL FEATURES 🔹 Multiple cutaneous neurofibromas 🔹 Café-au-lait spots 🔹 Freckling in the armpits or groin 🔹 Lisch nodules in the iris 🔹 Possible optic pathway gliomas and bone abnormalities ⚠️ WHY EARLY MONITORING MATTERS Although many neurofibromas are benign, some complications can affect vision, nerves, bones, and overall quality of life. Rarely, a plexiform neurofibroma can develop into a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. 💙 MANAGEMENT There is no universal cure, but regular specialist follow-up, vision and developmental assessments, symptom management, and appropriate surgical or targeted treatments can help manage complications. ✨ BEYOND THE DIAGNOSIS, THERE IS A PERSON WHO DESERVES DIGNITY, COMPASSION, AND RESPECT. Medical awareness should educate—not stigmatize. #Neurofibromatosis #NF1 #RareDiseases #MedicalEducation #HealthAwareness #WelloraHealth

Based on the location and appearance of the nodular/ulcerated lesion, the clinical diagnosis is Dacryocystitis (specifically, a lacrimal sac lesion / swelling presenting at the medial canthus below the inner corner of the right eye, with cutaneous involvement / fistulization).

🚨 INJECTION-SITE NECROSIS: A DEVASTATING COMPLICATION Extensive tissue death, sloughing, and deep ulceration of the buttock and thigh can occur following improperly administered intramuscular injections. ⚠️ Quinine-associated tissue necrosis is a serious possibility, but other causes—including infection, vascular injury, and Nicolau syndrome—must also be considered. 🩺 URGENT MANAGEMENT 🔹 Immediate pediatric surgical assessment 🔹 Pain control and careful fluid assessment 🔹 Specialist-led wound care and assessment for debridement 🔹 Antibiotics when infection is suspected or confirmed 🔹 Tetanus prophylaxis when indicated 🔹 Nutritional support to promote wound healing 🔹 Appropriate antimalarial treatment under specialist supervision 💡 Critical lesson: Severe injection-site pain, skin discoloration, blistering, or progressive ulceration requires urgent medical evaluation. Do not assume the wound is a simple sterile abscess. ⚕️ Suspected severe malaria also requires immediate treatment with an appropriate antimalarial regimen; treatment should not be delayed while managing the wound. Patient safety begins with correct drug selection, administration technique, and early recognition of complications. #MedicalEducation #Pediatrics #WoundCare #PatientSafety #ClinicalMedicine #WelloraHealth

No, that post from today is not the first tweet on Twitter (or X). The actual first tweet was posted by jack on March 21, 2006: "just setting up my twttr" It is still live at nitter.cf/jack/status/20.
