I would say the product is no longer”college football “ as we once knew.
A conversation people do not want to have: with the demographic cliff of a small pool of high school graduates, can we sustain our bandwidth of current higher ed institutions? More privates will close - and then states need to have the tough conversations.
I still run a few “Yamahas.”
The Detroit 92 series. 1974 to 1995.
The 71 was already a legend, but people wanted more power. Detroit didn’t design a whole new engine. They bored the 71 out, kept the same 5 inch stroke, and ended up with 92 cubic inches per cylinder. Same size engine, a lot more muscle.
There was just one problem. The first ones broke from too much torque.
So Detroit beefed up the bottom end and kept going. By 1981 the Silver 92 showed up, and that’s the one everybody wanted.
The 8V92 ran roughly 350 to 475 horsepower on the highway. The Army liked it enough to put it in the HEMTT, the Dragon Wagon. When the military trusts your engine, I’d say it passed inspection.
You didn’t idle it, you didn’t baby it, and you kept a jug of oil behind the seat. Drive it like it owed you money and it would scream all day long.
Then the four stroke Series 60 took over, and the scream went quiet.
Thank you for being on campus again; and I think you look terrific in crimson pinstripes :-)
John Olerud is a legendary Coug and a great Washingtonian. It was an honor to attend the dedication of his statue in Pullman.
When John was a Cougar and shutting down the Huskies year after year, I was a UW student. Grudging respect? Absolutely. Fan? Not so much.
In his rookie MLB year, I took a trip to see a game in every stadium. It was exciting to see a kid from Washington state competing at the highest level when I saw John playing in Toronto, and since then, I've been a fan.
As Governor, and as a dad to a fastpitch softball player, thank you for being an outstanding player and an exceptional role model.
Fair enough; however, most fans hope @espn doesn’t send McAfee anywhere; ever.
From @TheAthletic: Pat McAfee, a co-host of ESPN’s “College GameDay,” made more negative comments about the University of Utah on Monday, saying he hopes he never goes back and even alluding to last year’s assassination of Charlie Kirk. nyti.ms/4sojkIY
Certainly not an RDO dealer.
Farmer said he went to a JD dealer for combine parts and service last week. (Not the one right here, didn't even bother to call them.) Got there at 6:30 am, the owner greeted him by name, the mechanic was already in and ready to roll.
@JohnDeere : THIS is how it's done.
My go to drills were made in the 1960s
A 30-year-old John Deere planter went head-to-head with a modern Case IH, and Purdue researchers found no measurable difference in yield. So what are farmers really paying for when they upgrade?
