TUESDAY NIGHT KEITH UPDATE, OCTOBER 20, 2026: So I asked Kari if Keith would like to share his progress with us and maybe post a photo or two. Here's what she said: "I spoke with Keith yesterday and again today - I asked if he would like to invite his audience to join him on this journey of recovery. He gave me the affirmative signal both yesterday and today...I will be working with him to see if we can go live at some point this week. He is unable to speak, but communicates with his eyes so I will have to help right now." That's only a portion, the rest is me and her working out other stuff. Keith Malinak Update from @KariMalinak "After a relatively quiet weekend around the hospital, we were back to doing therapies today. The communication device (looks like an iPad) is absolutely amazing. Keith is working really hard and has to build up stamina with using it.

In 1941, in occupied Poland, Dr. Eugeniusz Łazowski turned the Nazis’ fear of typhus into a shield for thousands of people. Łazowski, a Polish physician, and his colleague Dr. Stanisław Matulewicz realized that a harmless bacterium called Proteus OX19 could produce a false positive on the Weil-Felix blood test used by German doctors to diagnose typhus. They began quietly injecting selected villagers with the inert bacteria. When German medical teams tested the blood samples, the results came back positive. The authorities declared the areas infected and imposed strict quarantines. German troops, terrified of the disease, avoided the “infected” zones. Instead of deportations and forced labor transports, the villages were sealed off and largely left alone. Families stayed together. Jewish residents who had been hidden in the area were protected by the same quarantine lines that kept the occupiers out. What the Germans believed was a spreading epidemic was, in reality, a carefully managed medical deception. The operation continued for years. As the German occupation collapsed in 1944–45, the false quarantines ended and the people who had lived behind those lines walked free. Estimates of the number of lives saved range into the thousands. After the war, Łazowski emigrated to the United States, where he practiced pediatrics for decades and rarely spoke publicly about what he had done. Only later did the full story emerge. He and Matulewicz had used laboratory knowledge and calculated risk to exploit the occupiers’ own protocols. No weapons were required—only the willingness to turn medical science against the machinery that was deciding who lived and who died.

Keith Malinak Update: We want to thank everyone for your generosity- in prayer and in donations. Keith loves sharing his life with you and feels as if he knows each of you, personally, too!  He is able to communicate with his eyes, so we know he hears us. We read to him the many prayers and well wishes - so he KNOWS he is loved! The team of doctors and nurses are so incredibly lovely … he could not be in better care. God is the ultimate Physician and we do believe in miracles. None of this is a surprise to Him and we trust His will. He is the God who rose Lazarus and if it is His will, we know He will restore Keith. Through all, we praise and trust Him, giving Him glory. (Our daughters were able to bring his precious Tilda to give him kisses - they both needed that.) We continue to persist in praying for a miracle and thank you for your continued love and prayers. ❤️❤️❤️ kari & family
