Five teams of UF Health Cancer Institute researchers have received @HealthyFla Florida Cancer Innovation Fund grants for innovative cancer research projects!
The new projects aim to improve monitoring of prostate cancer; uncover promising new treatments for hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer; harness the power of natural products for new cancer treatments; test whether kava reduces tobacco-associated lung cancer risk; and support a mobile health exercise intervention to reduce fatigue in cancer survivors.

ALT Screen shot of first page of PDF of From lab to ocean: bridging swimming energetics and wild movements to understand red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) behavior in a tidal estuary, by Brendan J. Gibbs and colleagues. The publishing information states: © 2026. Published by The Company of Biologists | Journal of Experimental Biology (2026) 229, jeb251420. doi:10.1242/jeb.251420. The first sentence of the Abstract reads: Understanding how fish navigate complex natural environments requires bridging fine-scale biomechanics with ecological behavior.
