Million Pound Shot showed the distress gambling operators cause, and it's disproportionately men and boys harmed.
This is a moment for the government to act, says Nick Harvey in @politicshome

Fantastic insight on @Channel4 tonight shocking show Bradley Walsh’s Million Pound Shot. A huge thank you to all the team and Bradley for exposing the dark side of gambling.
Well done to the actors and those with lived experience whose true experience was behind the show. I know how brave it is to publicly speak out.
Bradley Walsh thank you 🙏 it’s not easy being a public figure and speaking honestly about the gambling sector but awareness is vital

Bradley Walsh’s Million Pound Shot on C4 depicts the anguish felt by so many people who are lured into highly addictive forms of gambling.
It should be a wake-up call to the government to end all gambling ads.

Gambling kills, even when people take steps to self-exclude.
Steve Goff had self-excluded, but he was still able to access National Lottery draw games, prompting a coroner to warn of the risk of further deaths.

Scrapping ‘Aim to Permit’ will be a welcome step in the right direction after so many years of compromised oversight of immoral operators, says Derek Webb.

Director of @EndGamblingAds, @WillProchaska argues that with evidence mounting that liberal regulation harms families and the economy, ministers face growing pressure to ban gambling advertising.

The @BetGameCouncil represent multiple businesses that appear to profit from illegal gambling in the UK and overseas.
It is untenable for them to continue to advise government and @DCMS should remove them the illegal gambling taskforce.
As @WillProchaska said at the Labour conference this week, so many legal gambling operators are connected to companies profiting from illegal gambling.

Great to join CEGA and More in Common's panel on the next chapter for gambling reform.
✅ Consultation will open soon on aim-to-permit.
❌ Bingo halls cannot become a backdoor for high-risk gambling machines.
🎯 A new Gambling Act, adapted to the modern market and its risks.
I was proud to welcome @DawnButlerBrent and @vickyfoxcroft to the CEGA and @Moreincommon_ panel on gambling regulation yesterday, but I feel aghast that there's been a misogynist reaction from a licenced gambling operator and the sector's trolls. @GamRegGB should intervene.
